Bypassing EULA

After some basic googling and read of the EULA I shall present to you a few ideas.

Idea number 1 - Meep Merch:
Meep Merch is a great idea and is bound to make the server some money. What would be a lovely add on is if someone bought a t-shirt from meep that they get a lovely FREE code that gives them some in game perks and unlocks a lovely title *hinthint*. As long as the meep merch has no affiliation with minecraft if would be meeps own brand and therefore the rank would not be bought. You aren't making money off of minecraft (simply making money off of meeps brand) and therefore it is in accordance with the EULA.

Summarised:
Play buys merch, merch comes with a code, player puts code into meep, player gets a lovely treat.

Idea number 2 - Buying all the perks:
Why not have the option to simply buy perks using in game money, therefore all perks are available to all ranks. However the higher up the ranks the higher the level of discount on in game perks (VIP 10, Premium 20, Exclusive 30, Elite 50, Supreme 70, Ultimate 90 ?) this would mean that no one would have an advantage as all perks would be available to everyone.

Idea number 3 - Seperate worlds for seperate ranks:
I'm not 100% sure if I like this idea but it's worth putting it out there incase anyone else has ideas on how to adapt it. Essentially different ranks would have different servers (whitelisted when ranks are bought) these servers would have all the perks as were previously set.

I really like the first one, once more merch gets out I would totally be willing to buy it for an in-game perk(s)!

Pardon me asking, but why are all these EULA threads popping up? It was instituted forever ago, and we and many other servers have not been punished at all.

Weres option 4? Were we do none of the above and except the EULA has won and that we need to live with it.

Plus almost all of these have flaws.

If it's a physical item and or perks in order for meepcraft to make money this is going to be very expesensive.

Plus if the treats /fly for example, meeps brand would be distributing accesses codes for a perk that is a part of minecraft. There for we still are breaking the EULA as we are distributing accesses to a part of minecraft making it not an equal chance for all players.

Nope again. By making the perks cheaper as the rank gets higher up is again translating real life hard cash for an advantage in game. Which is a very big violation of the EULA

Do you know how much more resources it would take to have different severs for each rank. And think about ults for example, there are literally only 25 total ults on meep and very few are all on at a time so that server would be empty. Also by throwing all the new cits into a server with lots of other in experienced cits is not a good idea. Very few towns would be a thing and the ones do succeed would probably fall. Plus a very high crime rate as an elite isn't going to x ray as quickly as a cit would as they have more money to loose.

Screw eula. My friend doesn't follow da rules so, he just made a backup of the server, announced a change in ip adress, let them shut him down, and rebooted the server with all the info under a new ip address. The server is being ignored now because to them, it a super new.

 

Ideas 2 and 3 breach the Eula.

Ehh I'm trying my hardest also number 3 doesn't. Within the EULA it says servers are allowed to charge access to servers so whilst it's an awful idea it doesn't break EULA

What the person is paying for is a product that has no affiliation with minecraft. Meepcraft is only making profit off of the item they sell they are making no profit what so ever off of minecraft. I know of a website which in the past I have tried to push forward (only for the admins to never reply) which distributes your art on products for no cost to the creator. They could simply use that?

 

Merchandising is legal so long as:

"you don't make and sell more than 20 product items using the same (or a substantially similar) Unique Design. This means you can make 20 T-shirts using Design A and 20 T-shirts using Design B, but you cannot make 21 T-shirts using Design A; nor can you make 20 T-shirts using Design A plus 3 mugs using Design A;"

"make no more than $5000 for any calendar year from selling products under these Guidelines."

Am I misinterpreting?

What if you kept /fly for like 30 million meebles, /fix for 10 million, etc. and then encouraged buying meebles?

I think the gameplay might be better off without perks actually, but the server needs some way to stimulate donations.

 

A server is defined later in documentation as anything that is accessable to a player after joining from the menu selection screen.

you cannot charge for access to any specific world or minigame.
