Okay, I'm sorry, but this is not really the best of suggestions. It's a -1 from me. Here's why.

No, not all areas of the server should have pvp toggled. There should be designated safe zones. I know you said that town spawns and main spawn would be safe. However, certain areas such as pwarps and chest shops will be compromised. Players will lose part of their business. Plus, the most valuable thing can be someone's head. People may not want to pvp as it runs the risk of them losing their head, making it less valuable. Furthermore, staff need to be exempt or else someone can /modreq and kill the staff when they arrive.

Why the day before? If someone happens to miss that day, and join on the day of the Purge, they'll be killed. This is not what you want. If we expand the time, it'd be annoying if you forget to do it once. If we make it shorter, someone can abuse it such as doing /purge no in the middle of battle.

This can be easily abused. If we do it so that doors open, people can break into farms or private buildings and set homes inside. Even if someone /purge no, they will still run the risk of players breaking into their house. Also, some animal farms can become open and ruined. This is not what the Towny server needs nor should be allowed.

Uh... This is almost exactly like CTF. You can kill other players for points and at the end of the round, the winning team gets Meebles. If this is what you want, go /warp CTF There is no point in adding something into the server that we already have a similar version of.

Overall, there is no point in adding this plug-in or allowing this. Players can be killed while building, losing gear. The idea of gaining points and not looting chests or risk losing valuables is very similar to the Capture The Flag minigame we have. This plug-in will be open to much abuse from the players and will only hurt the community.

This wouldn't really affect me at the moment but here is the thing. What if a new player happens to join the day a purge is happening... this ought to kill their opinion of the server and drive away a potential donor. Another thing is that this would not be a good thing because a fair amount of players hate pvp and don't like fighting in minecraft so this would turn them off too. These are just two thoughts but I do not care if the purge is implemented or not.

an alpha town i used to be in had monthly purges, it was great. but -1 to a server wide thing

 

-1 for two reasons:
1. Coming from someone who would personally love sneaking into noobs' homes and taking everything they own for my own monetary gain, Meepcraft just isn't the server to do it on, an idea like this isn't what the server is built on. People come on for a fun towny experience not prepping to not die at the hands of a crew of god armored people.
2. You said something about how normal spawn and town spawns (I assume the one town [Home] block) would be protected. The problem with that is that people would just camp at spawn and town spawns, negating the purpose of making them no-pvp.

These are just my opinions but after a bit of thinking, that's why I don't think that would be a good idea.

 

The only way this would work is if people were able to back out.
But you know what would be better than this?

If towny war was implemented, I would come back.

 

Tb to when the purge came out and things were on the fritz in the server so people were greifing spawn. Too many purge jokes. People actually were up for it back then
