Chat Channel

Honestly i think meep has needed somrthing like this for a while
For example: You are in /warp pvp and theres someone in your town that needs help, you would type /channel (1,2, town a, town b and so on) and you would switch to the channel. Im suggesting that there are chat channels. I think this would be cool because it would help organize chat and it would be cool to talk to people at like spawn when you are in kitpvp. Also another neat thing about this is that you would be able to lock onto the channel. Also if you cant decide a channel u can still use /shout or type something like /channel l (local) which would make you talk in ur local area.

 

for the town thing you're talking about: we have /tca (town-chat Alpha) and /tcb (town-chat Beta).

I would imagine that adding individiual channels for each server would look rather confusing (keep in mind that it's already a bit confusing with /w,/g,and /tr just to name a few). How would this be kept neat? One of the defining aspects of Meep is that the collective group of servers can talk to each other yknow? I don't really want that limited with seperate channel/server chats.

Meep is a community server, which would make sense to have a global chat and just a few channels, because global chat is the best way for the community to interact with each other. Adding channels would reduce the amount of traffic that global gets, which isn't very good...

/tr, t, /tc, and /g are already available for regular players.
If you were staff, which you are not, there are private channels to communicate with fellow staff of your rank across the server.

But /tcb and /tca Need to be added everywhere. For example, you can't type /tcb or /tca while in kitpvp's arena.

 

This doesn't seem necessary. Besides I don't want to be discluded from certain areas of chat other than /s.
Party chats were a suggestion a while back, whether this will ever be implemented or not is unknown by me. Ask dblo

I don't think this should be a focus for meep -1

 

We have a nice chat system right now and this is really not an important matter at this time. You are more than welcome to suggest it again somewhere down the road and we can reconsider it at that time.
