5 years :')

I joined meepcraft because I saw on one of the voting websites that it had parkour which I looooooooved. But since then I've realised there's more to meepcraft than parkour. there's towny, gambling and of course (a whole lot more to meep besides gambling) an amazing community that's probably impossible to find anywhere else. Trust me, I've tried joining other towny servers and they never really clicked to me as clicky as meep did!

I understand that meep has had a drop in players recently and isn't the same as 5 years ago, but obviously things change in 5 years (other than my height..). I've heard a lot about some revamp changes (idk what they are) that are coming to the server (thanks clue bean). So far the website homepage has been changed, so that's a start. Please look at the positive side for meep, it's making a comeback! meep will soon be back at the #1 towny server.

anyways onto the actual point of this thread!

thank you to everyone who has made these past 5 years of my meep journey amazing. I've met the most incredible people that I probably won't be able to find in real life or any other server so I'm glad I came here. I've learnt so much, created life-long friendships and lost a million meebles and my brain cells to gambling. but that's okay. gambling is okay! I'm okay. I'm fine. I don't need gambling rehab. I won't be part of a gamblers anonymous group when I'm older because of my gambling issues. no.

5 years is a long time! I joined when I was a smol 13 year old playing minecraft instead of doing homework, and here I am now, a still smol 18 year old at uni, living away from home and still playing minecraft instead of doing homework. I'm surprised that I have stayed for this long. many of the friends I've met along the way have all left which is sad, I always wish they'd come back. But honestly I am glad I've stayed because I've met more amazing people!! (you know who you are, you absolute beans).

Every day (or mostly every day...maybe not regularly..) for the past 5 years I'd always wake up and the first thing I'd do is hop onto forums or even in game to see what's happening. I'm always thinking about meep, at school I would always have a forum tab open and always check discord and try to get in game although my school wifi was poop...

If I look back at the past 5 years of my life and think of the one thing that really made my life fun honestly it would be meep and you guys. the countless number of hours I spent there talking to people from across the world, gambling, trying to make my dreams come true by building a bikini bottom town underwater (failed, miserably).

It's so amazing that a minecraft server can connect people from different parts of the world. I know people from Europe, America, Asia, Australia and even someone from New Zealand!!

I'm not going to make a list of people that I want to thank because that would mean my brain would fry (no one wants to deal with a fried brain) and this post would become unbearrrrrrrrably long. but I'll just say this tidbit:

current/past staff members: thank you for all the hard work you put into the server. whether it was writing outlines for new things for meep or just kicking that very annoying spammer from global chat. you made meep enjoyable for us all and you continue to do that!

the community: you're what makes meep meep. you're the reason why I, and many others stayed on. you guys are so kind (there are some odd people..) and genuinely a pleasure to be around.
