Social Representative

Hey guys!
So today after reading Cdroid123's thread, I realized that Meepcraft Twitter and Instagram haven't been updated in a very long time. (35 weeks for Insta and over a year for Twitter). I was thinking that staff could elect somebody who is good with social media to get these accounts up and running again! Having Twitter and Instagram for MeepCraft is really useful because it not only informs players of what's going on- but it's also free advertisement! Players with Twitter accounts can turn on notifications for the Meep Twitter and immediately know if something is going on with the server.

It's always fun to have contests on social media like giving out meebles once it hits a certain amount of followers, or giving an upgrade to one of the people who shares the account's post! This way, our game will be in other people's news feeds and they'll see what our server is like! I just wanted to make an official thread about this, because it could have a lot of great benefits. it also has no downside.

If everyone on staff is too busy, I know a lot of other people would be happy to take up the job.

I'd gladly volunteer to help with the instagram page because I want to be more involved with meepcraft and Im on social media a ton! I would post pictures daily from meepcraft!

 

I mean it could also be something where we have multiple people on the accounts since not everyone can be on at once.

 

I'm all for some extra social media marketing, but if these are going to be the official social media pages for the server - how can you trust a player who is not staff? What if said player got banned, left or just decided to mess around with it (such as leaking out false information or such).

The server has such a large staff team, I really don't think there's a need for the players to do this. This really wouldn't restrict the staff from their current jobs and tasks, since there's only gonna be a few tweets/updates every couple of days.

 

I am sure that if this is implemented then the staff will either choose some of themselves to do it, or trusted players.

though, not everyone would be comfortable with someone they may not know, knowing their instagram/twitter. Good idea though!

Yeah, I am sure a lot of people would be uncomfortable with that! Luckily, though, no one would be forced to follow the accounts or give anyone their personal information. It would just be a completely optional addition for information and promotion! A lot of people are already following these accounts and commenting on the posts with IGNs. I would just love to see them become activate again!

 

True, true. It's a great idea though! I can always run the accounts, if there are no other volunteers!

 

To be honest, twitter is the only important one. Instagram is extremely pointless for a 'business social media' or 'community social media' that meep needs. Just stick to one and make it active and etc...
