So I am mayor of both an alpha and a beta town. Both towns have around 3mil in the bank, and cost about 13k a day to keep up. There is a solid chance that I won't play this coming school year and beyond, or if I do it won't be enough to make any substantial amount of money. My towns will last for a long while, but eventually they will fall. I've spent a large amount of time and effort on these towns spread across nearly 2 years, and if I decided to play again in the future it would be neat to still have those towns. I was thinking about this, and thought that it would be cool if there was an option to close a town. To close a town, one must not have any residents in the town, and can't break any blocks in the town unless they reopen it. A closed town could have much lower taxes compared to an open one which would keep it alive for players planning on taking extended breaks. To keep this from being abused, there could be something like a 100k fee to close it.
I seriously doubt this would ever be implemented due to the fact that it would require a lot of work for something that might not be used very often, but I just thought the idea was worth sharing.
