Donation Vouchers

Feel free to shoot this idea full of holes but here it is.

I want to suggest a Donation voucher. Maybe fix them to a $10 usd value.

The way these would work is similar to a rank donation. I could pay people meebles in-game to buy me a voucher. The voucher would be accredited to my name and once I got enough vouchers I could use them to rank up.

Example: Jdude5786 Rank Elite

I want Supreme. I would need 8 vounchers at $10 each = $80 to achieve this rank.

Why would it be helpful? Plenty of rank sellers at $10 but almost none willing to fork over $80.

Would it hurt the server? No in-fact it would probably lead to more revenue and a re-distribution of meebles in the economy. Only thing it might hurt is the number of 1 mil meeble donations.

People who are already Ultimate could gain prestige by buying additional donation vouchers.

Also possibility of people transferring vouchers?

What do people think?

Also meep could possibly give away a voucher (maybe just a 5USD voucher) as weeklong lottery award or something.

I don't see how this would be bad for rank sellers, if anything it will give them more clientele since you could sell at $10 increments instead of say $160 needed for Supreme -> Ult

 

When you say voucher, do you mean like a lotto ticket or a number value like /bal?

I think it would be very risky if you were thinking of the lotto ticket idea as it could be lost or removed by clear lag.

Yes, it should definitely not be an item.

 

If done correctly this could be great! This would allow more if us to be rank sellers therefore adding more donations to the server! More people buying/selling could definitely boost donations.

 

We could also use this to help people get chargeback-proofed. For example, if someone had cchargebacked a rank you had, but you had two of these stored up, you could be unbanned at the cost of the vouchers.

 

The only problem I could see with this is duping.

 

This voucher would be completely separate of the meepcraft game. It would be tied to your minecraft id only under the donations tab on the webpage.

you would buy vouchers the same way you would buy meebles or fireworks etc. The rank seller would have to ensure they had your name under the donor tab. Maybe on the Voucher screen or at the top of each donation tab you would see a voucher counter so you knew how many you had.

 

Vouchers should be the new way of donating, when I thought about this maybe they can add a command like /voucher "You currently have "3" vouchers and /send vouchers to another player. They aren't items but like a number like /bal.

The issue I see is: You buy 8 vouchers for elite, for example. on 3 of them, they are chargebacked. This costs the server $25 per chargeback, for a $10 purchase, and we lose the original purchase.

 

Are that many people charging back?

Also, If you wouldn't do a $10 because of chargeback why do we have VIP or Premium ranks?

If I'm paying meebles for vouchers I i can't chargeback those vouchers they're stuck to me. If the rank seller charges back then you should go after him. you could simply remove the voucher from the buying party as they were not the person actually performing the chargeback. Now if I buy a voucher and then chargeback you should ban me forever.

Maybe another way to protect against chargebacks is only allow as many vouchers as a person's rank is so if your VIP you can have up to 1 voucher before you must use it but if you were elite you could get up to 8 before you must use it on supreme. Maybe no vouchers for anyone over ultimate (kills my prestige idea but whatever)

 

the way in reading this is that you could buy 10$ vouchers at any time and than put them together? So say like you have 20$ so you buy vouchers than you buy 60$ later? And put them.together for a rank?

exactly, These vouchers are purchased through www.meepcraft.com donations and there is no way to dupe/grief/etc. there is no physical presence in meepcraft. To see if you have vouchers credited to your name you'd have to go online to the donations tab and look for it there.

Either way, you are are expanding the risk by magnitudes.

 

In paper, this idea looks really cool! Having this item would allow for much easier rank purchases, especially for elite to supreme and supreme to ultimate. However, in the long run, this idea is flawed and hosts too much issues in order to be beneficial to meepcraft.

Charging back would be a hassle, and it would be close to impossible to finding charge backed vouchers and removing them from the system. This would allow for many people to rank up unfairly and unlawfully.

Using these vouches, people can discreetly and freely sell irl or non meep related items, which is not allowed. Once again, it would be impossible to chart this.

These vouchers seem overtly complicated, and I don't think the immense amount of coding, bug checking, and maintenance this feature would consume would help pull its weight.
