Pay to shout? What?

Ok I just lost 2k for congratulating someone for getting VIP. RIOT

I'm not fully certain what everyone's problem is with the new shout mechanics as I have yet to be charged after shouting around seven times at my normal pace. It seems that Fuzzlr's token system (you start with three tokens and a single token regenerates after ten seconds) seems to be in place and if you break that, that's when you get charged. I will say that I don't shout as readily as other players, but I think this change will cause more well-formed responses to other messages in shout. The shout channel really needed to be subdued in my opinion anyways, but I would still appreciate a toggle option on top of the already implemented measures.

 

Make it less for each donor rank.
Or every other.
Something. Make it a perk so it's not totally annoying.

Voting is supposed to be for paying taxes and upkeep, not for paying for shout.

 

We didn't want the pay to shout thing to come back.
Citizens had to PAY 500 every time they spoke in global. Donors didn't have to pay a cent. +infinity. I don't want to feel like a citizen losing money from just TALKING.

 

technically, it's for helping the server grow.

It would be wonderful if someone cleared this up.

Meep grew regardless back then, and that was 100/shout no matter what for citizens.

It did have pay to shout at about 750 players I'm pretty sure.

Donors never had to pay and I never begged for Old Meep back ;-;

I mean, I just don't think paying to say 3 messages is necessary. According to the staff's spam rule, it's only spam if you repeat the same message over 3 times in one whole chat box. If it's spam, staff will give them a punishment.

I just don't think paying to say 3 messages is right. And like Metr0 said, voting is for towns, ranks, etc.; not for talking in shout. I mean, maybe if it was like this:

Citizen - 100
VIP-Ultimate - 0

That'd be much better

Paying to talk is not needed, and the economy isn't inflated anyway. Just wipe the Towny war chest and we won't need to lose 100 meebles.

If anything, the other way around. Citizens are often the ones struggling to pay tax anyways.

That's 32 million right there. The admins seem to be rigid in that every time the baltop goes over 2 bil, they implement some measure to keep it down.

In all seriousness here is my reasoning:
I normally don't keep a lot of cash on hand I like to transfer it to resources. I have enough to keep me financially stable for 2 days. This really screws my system up not only that but it infuriates me that I can't shout Auctions or keep a steady convo going in shout and I don't wanna hear "Take it to msg" or "take it to local" bs because it's normally with multiple people doing different things in different worlds. Please. Please. Please. Please. Get rid of it for the love of Fooslr, Gob and the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
