What are some dumb things you did that were against the rules but you never got caught? (And just share some other fun stories too!)

Here's a couple of mine:
My very first town someone was selling it for 10k, which was a ton to me because I only started a few weeks prior. I was super proud of the town. It was in a snowy biome back when snow could actually fall on the ground. Now that was a problem because my plot paths would be hidden. My brilliant solution was to use wooden pressure plates on top of cobblestone. Because as the mayor I obviously had perms through the whole town so I didn't realize the problem until I sold the town months later and the "you don't have permission to item switch ' spam happened.
Anywho. Same town. I immediately upped the tax rates, realized I could change embassy tax to 10k, changed everyones plots who could afford it to an embassy and hacked their money.

Later, probably in the same month or two, I downloaded a bunch of texture packs. Being both a tech and a minecraft noob I didn't know how mods caught xrayers and saw bans all the time. I thought there must be some alert when an xray mod or pack was used right? But I accidentally downloaded an xray pack along with all the other ones (I was trying out a lot to see if I liked any) and got really upset and scared when I turned on the xray pack. I even filed a modreq saying that so I wouldn't be banned and Im sure whoever picked it up had a good laugh

I also installed a fullbright mod when I was staff because I was so mad when they took the perks away, per eula.

Not illegal, but I once had staff tailing me in vanish because I was "mining too much gold" in August of 2016. It was right after Fuzzlr had added the resource world for Legacy, which ran in Minecraft 1.10. 1.10 added the mesas with loads of gold, but I guess nobody knew that, so I was mining gold left and right.

 

I literally did the same thing, advertised the shit out of my embassies to the richest people in Meep and then set a 20k tax. So damn scummy, and so much money.

 

i lured a couple dozen people in 2012. back when i thought it was perfectly fine to keep a base in the wild. only one was reported, and got off with a 3 hour ban :^)

i know this says “not caught” but i should’ve been diddled if all of them were reported, so this counts.

 

I even used that as a tool after people were inactive over a week or something. I'd do it legit and have a town rule where I'd set your plot to a shop plot with a 1K tax, and wait another week or two before kicking you. Depending on the items they would have in the shop I'd wait the minimum extra week or if there wasn't much I'd just let the taxes drain the meebles...

That was fun.

I did a lot of things but one I could remember right now is when I made another forum account just to get my main account more likes than ever. The name was Spiderboy or something.

That was the worst-best thing lmao

 

this wasn't a rule breaker but it was funny when I made a thread on april 1st (NZ time) that I was gonna resign from staff but the prank didn't really work well because it was still march 31st (or 30 whatever) in america so basically everyone (including staff) thought I was serious so I actually got my perms taken away. lol.

I gained assistant on one of legacies big towns and I went on an adventure destroying every single spawner I find (town grinders) while building a secret underground passageways to the town storage and the mayors house and draining their items day by day

 

I think... the worst thing I did was talk about some monster from a videogame in global chat, saying his name meant a man's banana and didn't get punished for it. That's the most I can remember.
(and when I meant a man's banana, I did say *the* word in global chat)

[and I'm the worst when it comes to remembering things. I'm a grandma with dementia when it comes to remembering anything]

 

All of what I'm about to tell you happened years ago.

• When I owned Thousand Oaks in 2016/17 I upped embassy tax to 10k/day. Milked 1mil+ from inactive users. I put a sign down so technically it was legal. I would do a similar thing with res tax before I sold it, just to a lesser extent (less than 200k).

• I would regularly take advantage of people in trades, belittling them with my offer before they could find market price.

• I would embezzle money and resources from most towns I worked for, around 250k-500k.

• I would overcharge and make BS claims while building. I also embezzled money by selling project resources. (Millions).

• When the MPR was a thing, I'd get abuse my position to get donations or payments for song requests, but pocket all of the money (350k-600k)

• Of the $13,000,000 I had when Beta closed, I'd say near half was ill-gotten gains.

Man when I look back at it, I was a great member of the community. Just don't invite me to your business.

one time i got banned for 2 hours because i said the funny number (that of which can be created by taking two numbers that are the same, except flipped upside down from eachother)

the context: how is everyone getting away with all of these (funny number) references?

this is due to the fact that there were quite a few people at the time saying the funny number without any repercussions. so of course im the first (and maybe only) one to get banned for saying the funny number in question

Tbh I could say a few things I’ve done but there quite stupid.
1. When I first joined meep in 2014 I accidentally got the largest alpha town handed over to me at the time LOL so I went around and raided the entire damn city to my liking and then sold it for like 50k because I didn’t know anything about towny! (I was a moron lol)
2. I had a town in 2016 in beta called Texas that I bought for like 50k and I raided the city regularly just to get rich and keep the town alive.
3. This was actually in the last 2 years but I was raising taxes by 10 meebles a day to earn more money while not look suspicious lol.
4. I also used to mine quartz out from spawns in towns I was staff in (sorry to Detroit’s old spawns!)
5. This was likely the dumbest one lol, I used to create a town and then sell lots of property’s in it and then raise the taxes super high and drain the money from peoples balances.

Note to Staff! I DON’T DO THIS ANYMORE
