the playerbase is small enough that join/leave messages can be done without spam

do it so that we can tell who comes on

combine the tablist so that it doesnt look like that, but shows all the servers

if the tablist idea is too difficult to make, then how about a /list command that shows all the players online (no point in having both though)

However, I do not believe enabling join/quit messages again would be beneficial to the server.

 

While adding a combined tab list, could the glitch where the fake players in spawn flicker in the tab list be fixed?

 

Why not? I think it’d be useful to know who joins and when players leave.

 

Not everyone likes their presence being announced all at once. Staff members sometimes must be on the server in things such as vanish, which join/leave messages completely negate.

 

I don't think that join/leave messages are necessary on servers of any size, like Clue said not everyone likes being announced, and not all of us want to be spammed if people join/leave back to back.
I think the better solution that I've seen on this thread would be to make a command that shows all players active on the world in general. This way the Tab list doesn't become annoying either.
Personally, I like seeing who's in my current world so I can determine when to use /w and /g in my chat messages.

 

This sort of thing exists on online multiplayer on the Legacy Console Edition, so it might be worth trying. +1

or /server if you're feeling fancy

 

+0.5: I like the combined tabs idea, but the join/leave messages seem a little annoying & unnecessary since combined tabs would tell you who joins and leaves anyway.

 

The annoying thing about the join/leave messages would be the fact that new players join with 1.13 and get kicked for spam. It would get out of hand.
