DECENT LAPTOP FOR VIDEOGAMES

I'm looking to buy a laptop around the price range of £1000/$1200/€1100
Not looking to go too much over that but I can stretch the budget a little higher.
Buying a laptop instead of a tower is because I am on the go quite a lot.

Thank you for opinions tech savvy people.

Don't buy a laptop if not absolutely necessary. If you do absolutely do need to buy a laptop then I would suggest searching for one with a non-mobile graphics card. Here are some examples and reasons why:

Non-mobile graphics card: Geforce GTX 1070
Mobile graphics card: Geforce GTX 1070M

If you have a 144hz monitor you have to get a DVI-D (Dual link) cable port on the laptop.

Be aware of a number of USB ports it has.

Buy a laptop with a 1080p display.

Be aware that a laptop is noisier than a desktop PC because it has less space to hold the heat, therefore, the fans spin quicker so you might want to acquire a headset (I use HyperX Stinger from Klingston* which works really well).

Well... the Pascal generation (GTX 10XX) comes without "Laptop" Graphics..

 

Believe me, I'm all for a properly built Mini ITX tower over a laptop but he's made his decision.

 

It might be a little over the range, but my ASUS ROG G751JT has rarely failed me, and I've had it for 3 or 4 years now. Still runs everything I need it to without a hitch. A little on the heavy side however.

 

Make sure to buy one of those laptop bases with fans in them for cooling. They're like $20 and will help your laptop last longer.

So the first prospect you should look at is memory. If you want to play a lot of video games and download mods, games, ETC, You need to have around 500 GB For gaming. 1 TB (1000 terabytes) are for the people who has like 3 monitors and a big computer runner (forgot the name.) You can buy more in the Microsoft store i believe, but that can be around 200$ for 1tb and maybe 100$ for 500.

The second prospect is proabally the graphics. If you want to play games like Skyrim or Fallout 4, you dont really need a beefy computer. (Unless you have like 1 million mods) You can have even 4gb RAM for singleplayer games like the ones i just listed. SO make sure you have at least 4gb ram for single player. The graphic card does not to be huge, but i recommend bigger than 1536 mb. (i have a mac so rip me if im wrong.)

The third one is a little complicated, as it is about multiplayer. This is where the GBRAM comes in. Not sure why but it does. I recommend around 6GB RAM to 8GB RAM for multiplayer. It costs more though sadly. But for games like minecraft or league of legends, you only need like 4 xD. But for black desert online is a different story. I recommend 8GB for games like that.

Fourth is pretty simple. Windows. A Mac (Apple) is one of the worst computers out there as far as compatibility. SO get a windows laptop like Dell or Acer. NEVER EVER EVER GET A LENEVO!!!! Trust me.
