Limit length of trade chat messages

Trade chat messages that are long often take up the whole visible chat box (without pressing chat key or scrolling). It's annoying. Obviously there is /ttoggle but I am still interested in seeing ads because I like to find out where I can buy things. Somebody suggested a character limit and I am all for it. Links for meepcraft.com are a special case because they can often be long yet should not be subject to this filter if they are over the limit.

There are lots of other shops out there that do what I do, I don't want to limit their advertisement strength or competing against other well known shops that don't even need advertisement.

 

I would disagree that longer messages is better though. I prefer to keep /tr on, but when someone's ads take up many lines of space, I turn it off, because it's just too annoying. Being concise in your words makes an advertisement more appealing.

You don’t need more than 10 words to describe what your pwarp/ad is for tbh.

Half the current character limit for advertisements would be ideal because people post thread links and it will leave enough space for people to state what they are buying/selling .

 

I completely agree it especially sucks when your trying to see messages in chat and a huge message pops up and you lose your place, or when voting and the links go away.
