I know this has been suggested time and time again, but add the /ignore command, but only for /msg and /tpa with a limit on the amount of players you can ignore (maybe 5?) without notifying the person being ignored that they are being ignored. The reason for this is because you can easily toggle global chat to ignore someone but you cannot turn off messages or teleport requests unless you log out of the game. I believe that /ignore would solve a lot of modreqs for harassment and spam through /msg and /tpa, and that it wouldn't divide the community because everyone cannot ignore every single person. There is also an ignore feature on the forums, so why not in game?

I am kinda split on this. On one hand I think we have the staff to handle any such Modreqs so a new feature would not be really necessary. On the other hand this would not really hurt anyone and would be an easy way out for those being harassed. I think some sort of option should be added for ignoring messages and teleports. Could this be added as a donor perk, at least the command /tptoggle -- I see no harm in allowing people to turn off being teleported to. To my knowledge, I am not sure if that would be EULA compliant. Only issue I would see is I am not sure if by default Essentials allows / has a perm to let staff override if someone has TPing off. Apologies for going off topic, but I can get behind this general concept. +1

I think having a time limit would be useful (perhaps ignoring someone would expire after 2-3 hours or perhaps 8-12). In my experience as a staff member, people usually file modreqs because them and another player are in an argument and the player reporting doesn’t want the argue about it anymore, but the other player won’t stop messaging them about it. Generally these things cool off after a few hours and things go back to normal between the players. Permanent toggle-able mutes aren’t really necessary and would probably divide the community.
I am a +1 for all the features you have suggested but I think a time limit would be necessary.

+1, Seems like a brilliant idea! When we join the game it says 0 players ignored though so they might be working on it already.

I think 8-12 hours is really ideal because most players are not on 8-12 hours later then when they were last on. Then the mute expires while they are offline and they likely forget the incident happened. However, if I get on at 5 pm and /ignore someone for 24hrs, in another 24hrs it will be 5pm again, causing me to have the player ignored for a reason that most likely isn’t relevant anymore.

This would be a problem because if you ignore someone and they say there e.g. giving out a free dragon egg, then after they give it out and you learn about it you will be pissed at them for not telling you even tho you ignored them so im totally a -1

In the thread it was said that it won’t block messages from the player in global, so this wouldn’t be a problem

I feel like it would be annoying to /ignore someone every hour you are online though. I think having /ignore be in effect for 8-12 hours would be much more beneficial.

Also, it would defeat the purpose of /ignore if someone had to wait two hours to use /ignore again.

I suppose it could be good if you used it like /ignore <player> <time> (in hours) with a minimum time of 1 hour and a max of 12.

So for example /ignore casualmow 4 would ignore casualmow for four hours is what I'm suggesting

I don't think at any time soon will there be someone giving out a dragon egg. And I doubt anyone would get pissed about it, because the people who'll say it, e.g. you saying you're giving out a nutcracker or a dragon egg, will be lying. It is possible for admins to give it out, but really, would you /ignore them?

+1 for this. It could be made a perk, and the amount of players increases the higher the rank you go.

If you're blocking someone, chances are they aren't the kind of person who's kind and generous.

    and this

just because you only want to be muted 1/3 of the time doesn't mean we want to hear you 2/3 of the time

Not too needed, if anything just ask a staff member to get them to stop talking to you. If they continue there's always the option to mute them.
