Small Idea

That meepcrafters will get 10k for any new member they persuade to join the server. For this to work they must do /new ref <player> before the player joins meep. Once a player joins meep, he/she does /ref accept and both parties receive 10k.

I guess this would potentially persuade more of our newer players to spread work of the server but It's kinda hard to find a way to prevent exploitation of this system.

Possible security measure: the new player must play for 24 hours in total to receive the payment???? Need help regarding security..

Possible solution(no idea how bans work on meep now, played last in 2014) IP check players, if thats even possible? So like 2 players from the same IP cannot do /new ref? But again, dynamic IP's and VPN's may prevent this to an extent.

 

10k seems eco killing to me

I like that you want people to persuade others to join, but I don’t think you’re clearly thinking it through.

• Making a system like this would take work from the techs, which could be spent doing something more meaningful.
• It seems too complicated; considering we can just promote player to be more nice, make sure players are not being toxic, and fix games.
• Lastly, 10k per person would be a straight kill to the economy. The economy right now is a tad inflated, and that would hurt it more.

4 - 6 vote keys is insane, considering there are good prizes. I think it should be lowered to 0 - 2.

 

-1 i run my town with that stuff. you cut off my supply and the whole thing falls.

 

What’s made it bad is that people are dependent on vote money and keys to stay afloat which is just hurting the towns experience.

Ah, gotcha.

 

The only pain in the backside are players with a VPN, instead of receiving money players could obtain cosmetic items instead.

 

What if over time of a new referred player playing they unlock more money for whoever referred them. If they play for weeks or days the referrer gets payed significantly more than if they only ever play once.

 

That’d be cool! I mean, if it’s not too much work and the prize were balanced, I don’t see why not then.

 

How do you get people to play on the server

Thats basically the only way to get someone from another server to join ours when you think about it. I doubt any of our friends, in real life, play minecraft. Theres probably not that money. You'd be advertising meep on a server and could either result in 1. a ban on that server, or 2. you'll actually get someone on meep to play for a while. I know this for a fact, due to Ellie inviting a player from another server to meep before, in which she didn't get banned due to her already being friends with this person. Have any other way to get players on meep other than this?

 

24 hours of meep play time???!!! make it 6-10

 

This sounds like it will murder the economy, and will be another easy target for alt abusers. Not to mention that players will just go spamming other servers and get filthy rich, which bring me to point number two.
I share @DarkKnight49x ’s opinion; by doing this, players will advertise on other servers, which doesn’t make us stronger, just weaker. Our player base will get rich, and our image will get worse, like a desperate server.
