Granted, this is still very early and the Grand Jury is being used as an investigation tool but it's still progress.

I don't really agree with affirmative action I think people should be judged on merit and diversity for diversity's sake isn't necessarily good justification.

(I get instances where a white and minority have the same merit some consideration has to be made as to which one is accepted)

I wouldn't take that article very seriously it's the equivalent of the NYT trying to write a piece on English politics - while perhaps factually correct doesn't really have weight or understanding to put much faith in it.

The sentiment you are getting at is very real but they are as representative of the left as the alt-right/trumpistaners are to the right a very vocal not-majority portion. I would consider myself a social libertarian, recognizing that pure forms of any government theory has not worked well and perhaps we need a mixture - but people should be allowed to do whatever they want as long as it doesn't impact another human in some non-negligent way. I think a lot more people are like that compared to either the extreme left / right when we're talking about the political spectrum and I also think that both extreme left/right are further angering the center.

It's just as important to recognize those social safe-space / microaggression / idiot leftists are just as much of a threat to our freedom and country as the racist / ignorant(evangelical) / warmongering right is. But it's also important to not paint all people on the left as extreme just as much as you think it's important to not associate the "alt-right" with the neo-nazi or trumpistaners or whatever else.

Right now in the democratic party there is a pretty large battle going on between social leftists and centrist democrats which is even evident in who their chairpeople are.

As sad as it is, it's doing wonders to de legitimize any alt-right talking point.

Also it should be illegal to be in any Nazi affiliated group. Nazis have killed more Americans than all terrorist Muslim groups combined. They should permanently be the enemy of the American people.

 

k but... what about free speech. The government shouldn't be deciding what is and isn't acceptable speech. Also how do you define "Nazi"? Is it just people who specifically identify with the national socialist party?

 

If you want to be racist, fine. You want to join the KKK, fine.

But the Nazi's were directly responsible for the murder of millions and the death of hundred of thousands of American soldiers. One should not be allowed to join a group based on Nazism or idolizing Hitler. Groups mirroring or advocating Nazi ideology should be labeled as enemies of the state and dealt with accordingly.

National socialism is related but I don't think national socialism as an ideology should be illegal. Just the literal act of joining a group pretensed on Hitler or Nazi's should not be allowed.

Hillary Clinton pandered to identity politics within the democratic party, Joe Biden literally talked about how great it would be when white people become a minority in America. The democrats 100% lost this election because of there identity politics.
