I have been playing on meepcraft for a long time, and I have just comeback from a 7 month break. in the 3 days I have been here I have seen all the new stuff meep has done and I most say its depressing to see not much has changed and the stuff that has changed made the server worse. these are a few suggestions from what I've seen through my eyes and what I think needs to be done.

    1. Spawner Mining: now I remember when I donated to get elite that spawner mining was the only reason I donated to it. Taking this away was, in my opinion, a bad choice because wwhy would anyone who donated for this want to stay on this server if it doesn't have spawner mining? there are plenty of servers with it and the ranks are probably far cheaper. when I started getting back into things, I found it much harder to get resources and stuff because there is no really easy way to get xp, now I could buy xp bottles, but that cost money, which is something most people don't have anymore since the restart. I think that if spawner mining was readded it would boost the economy because people could actually buy stuff, and make tools so they can get resources to start shops.
    2. A better /Warp Shop: ok, so the warp shop is pretty much a useless warp because there is literally nothing in the shop. you can buy basic stuff but you cant sell anything. now, if you look at it from this point... how is this an efficient way of putting money into a struggling economy if you cant sell to the server?? people can only sell to those who have enough money to open a shop, and when they run out of money, how can you sell stuff. now looking at it, this game is dying... and the only way to get people to your server is to offer something that could help with money.

    3. Gold prices: How does lowering gold prices help with anything. a lot of people are dirt poor and we cant do anything about it. There is no way to make any money because YOU CANT SELL ANYTHING TO THE SERVER and GOLD ISNT WORTH ANYTHING. So In a struggling eco with no money at all, what could it hurt to add a little more money to the economy.

The server numbers are low as far as players, so why give up and not do anything about it. a lot of players left because of the multiple restarts and no new player stays with the server because it is impossible to make money... I think little changes in the eco could go a long way.

    1. No
    2. Maybe, however I think that people should be the ones selling stuff, not admin shops.
    3. No

    This economy isn't "struggling."

I don't think you can make any real assessment or diagnosis of the issue/solution from being here 3 days after being gone for so long. I also think your assumptions are based on wholly incorrect information. Spawner mining killed the economy when it was here and bringing it back would entirely wipe out entire markets which are especially geared for beginning players. Additionally the warp shop should not be a solve-all location because MeepCraft was always most successful when players were able to trade/commune with other players - creating a community. Rewarding instant profit/gratification inherently alienates the exact type of player who enjoys a persistent / investment gameplay. Catering to the opposite is just bad business.

Your diagnosis for why there is a low player-count is entirely incorrect because the reset actually helped improve numbers slightly. There are a multitude of reasons why the playerbase is low - some of them solveable, some not.

Don't be one of those players -- be smart.

Spawner mining was removed because it ruins the economy. 110%.

The price of everything was lowered, therefore the price of $50 is normal.

    1. If you need xp there are plenty of public grinders, for free. /pwarp service /pwarp grind etc

    2. If you need money use /jobs. It should be hard to make money

    3. In 1.8 mesa spawns a lot of gold, so that's why gold was devalued. Makes sense?

Making money is now in smaller amounts, but by keeping your head and finding something smart or doing some grinding at a job, you can aquifer a good profit. If I went back to my older business of diamond reselling, I could earn a couple thousand without too much work. You can do it too, and so can anyone else. Just put in either the time, or the mental effort.

I do understand that being back for 3 days isn't a lot, but we also have to consider the fact that before when there were 100 players or something like that it was a lot easier to trade, now even on /shop there is stuff that you cant find and im ok with have to go to wild to get stuff... but what we are doing right now just doesn't seem to be good. I think it would be more enjoyable for everyone if it were a little bit easier to make money... before I could look at it like you, but now i get the privilege to look at it from a starting player's point of view and it is really hard to make money on this server, I could go anywhere else and play for a week and make twice as much I would make on meep in a month.

The problem is this: there are multiple tiers of trade. Most visible to most players is the first, from the server. Selling gold, using /jobs, and playing minigames gives the player money from the server. It's dependable and an infinite supply of money. This is earned in smaller amounts, because it's the most obvious level of trading. To earn more money and get the most items you can, you must move to also trading with players. Be it v-shop, chestshops, or personal deals, when players trade amongst themselves, money gets reused to buy many different items before returning to the server. Money is more useful not from the server handing out more but from the players using money between themselves.

Your problem simply put pal is that you don't want to put in the effort. You get 4k from voting daily as well as jobs/minigames to make money, I know that because my mates have made millions from mining and playing minigames.

Can you tell me the average amount of time it takes a new player that begins at 2,500 to earn 100,000 meebles?

Additionally, you should not be counting mini-games in this sense purely because you are not accounting that not everyone likes mini-games and it defies logic for people to grind games they don't enjoy simply to earn money. (This is a towny server, ya'know)

There is no average amount, because there are too many variables. Depending on how new players make money, it can either take weeks or minutes.

10 days easily if you just want to make 10k a day that's about 1 and a half/2 hours a day.

I recently rejoined, albeit as an Ultimate, and it took me less than a week to reach 100k, primarily through jobs and voting.

The time it takes you to make 100k starting with 2500 and no other items depends on your knowledge of the server. Assuming you already know a decent way to make money, you could easily make 100k in a day just from grinding minigames, wither skull collecting, doing jobs for other players, begging, mining for ores, selling items in bulk, voting, doing parkour, selling halo coins, selling ctf coins, farming and selling the products, trading for emeralds, trading for ebooks, making god items and tools, building houses for other people and selling them, cutting trees, selling wood, doing the quests (that's an easy like 40k for doing all of those), and other stuff. There are ways to make money, but this server has never been an instant huge payout, it's meant to be a challenge sometimes.

(If someone doesn't want to play a minigame to make money, then they can do something else to make money. I know people that are too laggy to play minigames or just don't like them and still make money pretty fast. It's all about the time you are willing to put in and how good a salesman you can be)

Edit: Obviously a new player would have trouble making money because they don't know methods of how to make money. It isn't easy to make it so new players see an easy way to make money without more experienced players doing it too and becoming rich (everybody can't be rich)

For the record, I'm a -1 on the suggestion. I also felt that it was surprisingly difficult to make money when I first started, but within a day or two I realized it has to do with perspective and just working hard. Perspective, because the economy is different now; 100k is worth what was at least 500k-1 mill previously, especially if you look at rank selling. I also just worked hard, did jobs and all the quests, did parkour when I was bored, and voted, and I got up to 100k extremely quickly. Even spending money and such - I was a little more frugal than I've been in the past, but I still wasn't just hoarding money. It's not as hard as you make it out to be.

And like I said, I am Ult, which did make it easier - while /fly is no longer in /warp wild, I still was able to use /craft, /smelt, and other related commands to help me. These would not be accessible to new players, which might make it a bit slower. But it's far from impossible.

Like many people, I also donated to Elite primarily for spawner mining. I miss it, but there's many reasons to keep it out of the server. It basically makes enchanted goods extremely common, ruining the market for them. To be fair, spawners do add a new market in selling spawners and/or spawner locations, and I think it could potentially be added back in a way that minimizes the damage, but it's not nearly as necessary nor as easy as you make it out to be.

I'm a hard no on this. Selling to /warp shop was necessary in the past because of a lack of /jobs for awhile, but now that we have it, we have plenty of ways to insert money into the economy. /jobs, minigames, parkour, and voting all put money in, we don't need another source. Plus, not being able to sell at /warp shop allows for more player-player interaction.

I see no problem with gold prices? Gold is relatively common, especially with water temples and mesas now, so a lower price fits that. Plus, as I mentioned before, the economy is different - gold prices probably seem low to you because they've been adjusted to the current economy, while you're still stuck in the previous one.

To finish off - no, this is just incorrect. Like Deinen said, there's multiple reasons for a low player count, many of which have to do with MineCraft as a whole and not MeepCraft. Don't blame the thriving economy just because it's not as inflated as it has been in the past.

Eco is struggling due to it being so easy to make money and due to so few players acting in the eco. Economy doesn't really work with just 20 people using it and the other 20 doing whatever they want.

A lot of the markets in the past are no longer available because of the amount of people currently active. For example, the head market isn't as alive because we simply don't have a large number of people PvPing anymore.

I don't think that people should have to grind mini-games for meebles either. As Deinen said, it's a towny server for a reason.

New players, especially kids, probably get overwhelmed and frustrated. My cousin is a good example of this. He's 11 (I think,) and plays Minecraft a lot. I asked him to try meep once, when I was still active. He built his plot in my town, waddled around wild and mined, but it never really stuck with him. Interacting with people as the market just isn't the way to go for some people. I don't think it'd be a bad idea to reintroduce an NPC shop, as long as the items in it and prices are balanced. There should be a shop for people to sell and instantly get $ rather than waiting for vshop.

Meep, while I won't say it's ruined, is in a difficult spit because of the low playercount. I honestly think that it'd be better to add a shop for people to make money quicker for now, hopefully facilitating the process of making money.

    2.
There wasn't really much of a suggestion in that one other than "make it better." Suggestions should not be abstract, because staff are already working around the clock to brainstorm ways of "making Meep better."

    3.
It's incredibly easy to make money on the server through voting, jobs, the daily bonus, the daily ingots, parkour, etc. I personally made a large majority of my funds when I played (instead of worked) on the server simply by voting and mining. I don't really know where people get this idea that meebles are hard to come by... I think it comes from remembering a time when the economy was utter crap and each kid and their dog had a million meebles.

If people leave the server, I don't think it's because of the current state of the economy. I'm also working hard with Fuzzlr and the admins to ensure that we don't have another accidental restart ever again.

Thank you for making your suggestion, though.
