@Deinen I can't quote because I'm on my phone, sorry about that .

On your first point, I understand NATOs importance, but the us basically pays for a ton of the countries militarized when those countries could pay for it themselves. We absolutely should pull the plug on those countries.

On your second point; I don't think that's true at all. China & India don't even have to do anything until 2035 or 2050. Meanwhile we have to handicap our own economy in just a few years.

On2 your third point: Flynn is the only one who lied right? I am ignorant about Betsy devos brother but I also don't care at all. What did kushnr & session do?

That's true, but at the same time, NATO protects US interests abroad. Pulling the plug on countries that "aren't spending enough" militarily would be a terrible idea, because those countries often have a high strategic value to the US, and the rest of NATO.

That's true, but at the same time China is the leader in solar and nuclear energy development right now, investing billions of dollars into research and development of renewable energy technology, while the US is headed in the other direction.

And on a basic human level, waiting around for other countries to take the initiative is just going to result in perpetual waiting. Pollution is a major problem, and someone has to start somewhere.

Both Kushner and Sessions neglected to mention meetings with the Russians on their background check/security clearance forms. While they were supposed to disclose the meetings, it's common practice not to mention meetings in passing. However, given the context, and the White House's ties to Russia, it's a little bit fishy. Therefore, Kushner's dealings with the Russians then could have very well been innocent, and probably were for all I know.

However Sessions met with the Russian ambassador in September, in his office. Then he denied ever having communicated with the Russians, saying: "I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians."

I am not being a hypocrite. Deinen keeps bring up "Flynn" saying that he "had ties to Russia", lied and is part of an investigation. Saying that its another tie Trump and his cabinet have to Russia. However, he fails to realize that Flynn is no longer in his cabinet. Therefore he has no relevancy to the Russian investigation.

Also, everything I said about Obama was true. Nothing was even "bad" that I said about him.

Thank you for finding every single time I said Obama.

Yall said I could only compare to Donald Trump to a previous President and that I did.

Every country should be paying in their fair share. USA has been paying in the most. Therefore, you shouldn't be protected under NATO if you do not pay into NATO. If we "pull the plug" on em, I have no doubt in my mind that they are going to realize they should be paying in because NATO is a large asset to them. This was my problem with Obama and would have been a problem of mine for Hillary. They keep giving to countries that crap on us and don't put in equal work. Other countries are abusing the USA as well as other countries and it needs to be stopped. Donald Trump is the best choice in that aspect IMO.

Donald Trump is investing money into nuclear energy and finding a new source for oil. He didn't stop all funding to it. He still has the EPA and yes pollution is a problem. Also, we should be thankful China is turning into a closer ally.

yeah yeah yeah whatever. Its nonsense. At this rate Trumps presidency will be over by the time they find anything in that investigation. They keep adding people to it in hopes to find something. Its a stupid investigation.

You do know an ambassadors job is to talk to the country in which they are the ambassador of.

They need there military too. If they can afford there military, we shouldn't be bankrupting ourselves paying for theres. We spend a ridiculous amount of money on our military, it seriously needs to be scaled back.

I could be wrong on this, but wasn't the question wether or not he met with the Russians as a campaign surrogate? He didn't meet with the russian as a campaign surrogate, he met in the capacity of his other duties.

I'm not saying wait around, we should be doing everything in our power to persuade china and india to jump on the green bandwagon. This brings me to a point I don't really like making, but if we retreat from moral grandstanding and preaching on our soapbox and start polluting the atmosphere, china will see it as a propaganda victory and commit to going green. I know there were 2 pieces from the NYT on this, I can't find them though so heres one from salon: As the U.S. retreats, China is taking the lead on green energy

@Deljikho The point is that when you guys bring up flynn, its pointless because donald kicked him out. Conservatives dislike him just as much as you guys for harming the integrity of the nation.

Nope. Sessions volunteered this information when asked what he would do if evidence came to light there was collusion, would Sessions recuse himself from investigating that? Sessions then said a lie in an attempt to pivot from that question.

Franken said: CNN just published a story alleging that the intelligence community provided documents to the president-elect last week that included information that quote, ‘Russian operatives claimed to have compromising personal and financial information about Mr. Trump.’ These documents also allegedly say quote, ‘There was a continuing exchange of information during the campaign between Trump's surrogates and intermediaries for the Russian government.’
Now, again, I'm telling you this as it's coming out, so you know. But if it's true, it's obviously extremely serious and if there is any evidence that anyone affiliated with the Trump campaign communicated with the Russian government in the course of this campaign, what will you do?

Sessions: I'm not aware of any of those activities. I have been called a surrogate at a time or two in that campaign and I did not have communications with the Russians, and I'm unable to comment on it.

I guess the issue is that NATO doesn't have a bank account and member nations don't "pay" into it.

@Deinen why don't they add Melania Trump to the investigation? She's married to Donald Trump, who is the father of Ivanka Trump, who is the friend of Putins friends ex-wife. That's a huge tie to Russia, I think she might be a Russian spy too!

Trump exempts entire Senior Staff from White House ethics rule

"President Donald Trump has exempted his entire senior staff from provisions of his own ethics rules to allow them to work with political and advocacy groups that support the administration."

"Staffers given a pass on those rules include White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, who has the green light to communicate and meet with “political, advocacy, trade, or non-profit organizations” that formerly employed her consulting firm, despite ethics rules that would otherwise bar work with former clients."

"The White House waived the rule for Trump energy policy adviser Michael Catanzaro, a former lobbyist for the oil and gas industry. He was given approval to work on "energy and environmental policy issues" including the Clean Power Plan, the Waters of the United States rule and other environmental regulations.

Tax policy adviser Shahira Knight, a former Fidelity executive, was approved to deal with tax, retirement and financial services issues even though she'd previously lobbied on those topics.

'The National Economic Council has been tasked with addressing issues relating to tax, retirement and financial services. The Administration has an interest in you working on matters in those areas due to your expertise and prior experience' the waiver reads.

White House economic aide Andrew Olmem was cleared to work on a variety of finance-related issues despite his lobbying for several big insurance companies and banks."

Trumps executive order that limits government employees from influencing industries of their previous employment

He didn't drain the swamp, he made it bigger and build a castle on top.

He was saying there wasn't collusion between the presidents campaign and russia. If he met with russia as a surrogate then it could be collusion, any meetings he had with russia that weren't as a surrogate are irrelevant.

No but we spend 5.9 billion dollars a year on foreign military financing, We could use that for meals on wheels funding right :) !!?!?

That's not even .5% of our military budget, and Trump cut funding for meals on wheels in his budget

Its still 5.9 billion dollars, but your point isn't invalid. We need to stop buying a pointless amount of identical jets costing millions of dollars each because of lobbying, and we need to stop acting like the world police. I know trump cut funding for meals on wheels, but if we didn't pay for other peoples militaries maybe we would have more funding for a food cart.

The point is if you guys are going to attack him when he wants to cut foreign military aid then he's going to cut something else.

I'm actually okay with this. They say, even if we stopped emitting all gases into the air. The temperature would still continue to go up 1.5 degrees every I think 1-10 years (don't quote me on the years, I could be wrong but I think it was 1-10 years). They also say that the Paris agreement would only help lower the temperature by a 1,000th of a degree if that. The point is it's a waste of money for absolutely nothing.
