@Deinen had a point. At this point, why continue on the way things are going. It quite obviously isn't getting better. Just take a chance, and if it does fail then you know for next time. At least you can say you tried and didn't accept another duplicate staff member. I'm not saying all staff members are the same, but many of them are similar. That's not a bad thing, if you had someone random ones to make the staff team seem more human and personable.

 

First off, who are you to be calling people immature? Seriously?

VKL has been on this server for five years, and he's reached a stage of maturity where he no longer feels the need to act mature. This is the hallmark of a mature person. When you are young, like yourself, you find the need to pretend to act mature to be accepted by your peers. VKL is a mature person because he ascended above that fallacy and isn't afraid to be himself.

Also, yes this is the EXACT person I want as staff. I want staff to have another not-afraid-to-be-myself-and-not-be-100%-positive-all-the-time dude. And whats the worst VKL could do? Sure, he's not like other staff members, but theres literally nothing bad VKL could do.

 

I really disagree, I don't know where people are getting that staff members are all the same. I don't know a lot of staff members personally, and yet I can still see that they're engaging and interesting and diverse people. If you remember any staff members from before they were moderators, I don't think they changed to become robots once they became staff.

How are you guys even claiming that you don't have suspiciously similar personalities? Every single staff member on this thread (with the exception of flamedemond2 who is a great staff member) has the same signature of them highlighting the time they achieved their ranks. Holy crap this thing is literally writing itself!

Seriously though, I don't really think the level of professionalism that staff expect is really necessary anymore given the tight knit and chill community this server has grown into. I haven't observed VKL lately so I am not going to put in my opinion on whether or not he would be a good staff member, but so long as he isn't being downright toxic, i see no problem with it.

 

I agree with you on your tight knit community point, I feel the same way, there's nothing bad VKL can do. Promoting VKL might not be smart, but damn its exciting. And thats important, it truly is.

As for the first point, I wholeheartedly believe that everyone who is not afraid to be themselves is a mature person, even if they're a foolhardy neanderthal like VKL is.

Honestly, I don't feel like staff members are always positive. Sometimes they feel down, upset, sick or angry at times. But I don't feel like they are all the same, the are all different and unique. Being mature is actually one major personality that everyone wants, because I wouldn't feel safe to have someone with commands and perms acting so immature to someone that they are treated unfairly for doing nothing to them. I mean it's okay to have a bit of immaturity, but when it comes to doing the job of a staff member, I would say you are required to be mature to do the task. Also, is this an advertising campaign to get VKL a staff member? Because I feel as if it is.
Anyway, main point, a staff member is unique and different in a way.

The reason is simple. VKL wasn't serious about his application. End of story.

 

Does you realize how rude this is. Ellie is an extremely nice, kind, positive person. How dare you bash her personality. Is it wrong that she is naturally positive and kind? You need to watch what you're saying and think about how it might affect others. Is it wrong that the meepcraft staff team is compiled of kind, positive people? Would you join a server with a staff team that was rude, unkind, and unhelpful? I'm sorry that you don't like kind people. That's your problem.

Is it wrong that staff are proud of their achievements and ranks? Wouldn't you be too?

My two bucks (because I won't stop talking when I should and two cents is basically worthless):

1. The staff team was picked over time from a pool of people. Those who are there are those with the qualities that the server staff felt important. Positivity perhaps may be one of those qualities. As someone else said earlier, no one likes a debbie downer.

2. Changing the server from family friendly is a dangerous act. I figured I should mention this before anyone picked it up as their mantle. I understand that a large majority of this server is teenagers, but:

a) Some people may just enjoy being with people better when they reserve themselves enough to do things such as avoid swearing.

b) Being family friendly scares off way less people then a non-family friendly server.

c) I can't see any way that making the server not family friendly will attract people to the server willing to contribute to the community. If someone doesn't feel they have self control to not swear in chat, then why would they have the self control to not start flame wars or be generally toxic?

3. If @VKL_ReWinDzz wants staff then he should reapply with enough effort put into his application. That's what staff wanted at the very least: effort.

4. I'd say there are different levels of maturity. Choosing to not conform for conformity's sake is a good level, choosing to conform while still remaining yourself so as to not insult others is a greater level, as this requires not just understanding, but control as well.

 

Thats the issue. It isnt their kindness, its just their overwhelming. Some staff members have absolutely no personality because they're focused on being positive all the time, it makes them incapable of having opinions or interests. Every single great staff member wasn't afraid to be stern or mean, and some staff members now are just too scared to assert themselves. Also, yes I am making fun of this persons personality. I find it absolutely hilarious that someone would list one of their main personality traits as "being positive", its like 12 year old boys saying that they can get girls because "they're nice". I

You didn't get what I was saying. I was stating that its suspicious that most staff members have it because I'm arguing that most of these staff members have the same personalities

Also, its extremely stupid. Its kinda weird why you'd be proud about buying a rank. I'm not proud I bought chocolate milk yesterday.

 

You don't play Meep anymore, at least not from what I've seen, and yet you're saying you know everything about current staff members' personalities and behaviors. You yourself said you don't know Ellie, and let me tell you, she's just one of the most positive people on Meep, even before she was staff. She's a real cool person and you're just basing assumptions about her from her saying that she is indeed a very cheery person. Thinking of any person on Meep, staff or not, has a different personality and image attached to them. Staff didn't become too nice and non-assertive, they're doing their job very well in my opinion, and honestly, I don't know how you manage to raise a problem when you don't even play, or know some of them.
