I think its definitely a different situation for us than in Europe. We can more securely vet the people we fly to our country because there not literally walking here.

Thats not been my experience at all (I'm ojibwa native american).

Then screw em. If your family has bad values it doesn't give you license to still have those values, your responsible for your own evil values.
Its not my job to understand why people do evil things, evil doesn't need a reason.

If I was president my number one priority would be finding a new replacement for oil, since its gonna run out

Does trump have any plans for this?

Be real. Even the most liberal countries in the world struggle being 100% renewable.

What? No. Although this is something that we need to look into it certainly is not a no. 1 priority. I mean Florida is running out of water, the aquifer is running out. That's things we should look into but if I were President:
    1.) Immigrantion!
    2.) health care / welfare
    3.) Military / VA
    4.)jobs /economy
    5.) education
6.) "Draining the swamp" / getting along with other countries (teaching Mr. Kim a lesson)
7.) science related topics. I.e. The false global warming accusations, oil, water.

This is why I hope you never get elected.

Anti-science isn't the best way to do things. The "it's a routine warming" trope is BS. Let's talk about clear, established facts. 1. Carbon Dioxide traps heat (see Venus, which had runaway volcanic activity leading to it being the hottest planet in the solar system thanks to CO2.) We have more CO2 in the atmosphere now than any time since right after a supervolcano eruption. As in, extinction level stuff. We are adding more into the atmosphere each day. These are facts. Sorry they don't fit with your agenda, deal with it snowflake.

We already had this discussion on the global warming thread; if you want to talk about it you should probably go there, since it's a topic in and of itself.

Trump increased the nuclear power budget in March and re-opened Yucca Mountain Nuclear Waste storage facility, which seems to indicate that he wants to pursue nuclear energy as a potential replacement for oil. I hope he follows through and actually does it, but for now, nothing else seems to have been done.

Nuclear Power isn't the cleanest either. I'd pursue solar and wind, as those are two resources that don't run out.

The thing is they don't really work. Storage technology hasn't progressed to the point where we can effectively store large amounts of power for reasonably long periods of time. As a result, when it's not windy or not sunny outside, you have no power. Likewise, when it's too windy, you have too much power, overloading the power grid. I remember this happened in 2010 in a wind farm in Oregon, causing issues with the power grid.

Similarly, solar power isn't very efficient, and requires a high level of maintenance in order to be economically viable. As I mentioned before, when it's not sunny outside, solar power is ineffective, and as there's no real way to store large amounts of power, power is directly tied to sunlight: you only have power when it's sunny.

Furthermore, it's very expensive to build and maintain solar and wind plants, especially on a large scale.

With nuclear power, you have on-demand power, meaning you have a constant supply of power whenever you need it. Power companies can analyze usage trends and produce power when it's likely to be needed, and produce less power when it's less needed--they don't have to rely on nature.

Hydroelectric is also a very good source of renewable energy, as the flow of rivers stays relatively constant throughout the year, and it's easy to predict trends in water flow. It's also pretty cheap to operate a dam too.

If you want any of the stats behind this, just reply and let me know--it's a very interesting subject.

Well, in Trumps case, the first thing he should do is stop colluding with the Russians. His boy Kushner is now being investigated. Turns out Sessions hid meetings he had with the Russians. Trump is giving out classified information like it was candy.

    Lol comrade Trump

Oh, also, that travel ban. He said it was for 90 days so they can get better vetting. It's been more than 100 days now, so they had the 90 days to put in extreme vetting. Why we need travel ban now, since he had the 90 days he needed to put in extreme vetting.

This is not uncommon, though. People do this all the time when it comes to other countries; as it's not usually practice to disclose every single meeting with foreign agents, if the meeting is just in passing. Obviously, this is really concerning, especially given the administration's ties with Russia, but it's not as if Sessions did something completely unprecedented here.

Again, I'll restate that even though Sessions' actions weren't unprecedented as many agents don't disclose minor interactions with foreign agents, we should still be concerned given the context.

How many of Trumps administration has very close ties to Russia?

How many of them have lied about it?

There may be precedent, but that precedent has never had the context it does now.

I think that goes without saying for literally everyone on this thread.
Also more liberals attempting to no-platform Sean Hannity.

First Amendment doesn't say that you can do whatever without consequences. Hannity spread a blatantly wrong and harmful conspiracy, and he's paying the price. If I were Seth's family, I'd sue. Sean screwed up. Grow up, snowflake. You can't expect to do whatever you want without paying a price, especially as a public figure.

Wrong, He said stupid crap and then a third party organization published a list of his sponsors and told people to boycott them. I have nothing against the companies for pulling out, but I think the people who published his sponsors and told people to shut him down are pieces of garbage.

I didn't say it was the first amendment you cornflake. Its just part of a pattern of behavior where the left thinks there are no bad tactics, only bad targets. They will literally do anything to make sure speech they don't like will be shutdown, its a massive issue for conservatives.

    Right......that's capitalism

And Fox published his sponsors, you know, through commercials. Nor was the person who said to boycott him some mind-control master, millions of individual people willingly boycotted his sponsors.

If we're arguing that a bakery should be able to deny gay people it's service, then we also have to argue that gay person has the inherent right to protest legally and urge a boycott of that establishment.

Arguing any other way on this instantly signals that your ideology stems purely from a self-serving position, wanting to use that system to your own gain - but at your consequence you decry the fairness of it. You can't have a penny without a head and a tails side to it.

But he's not arguing that it should be illegal to boycott people. He's arguing that way too often, whenever the right makes any sort of argument at all, they're labeled as ____ist, immediately discrediting the argument and oftentimes the entire person as a whole.

I'm not saying the right doesn't do this too, because it definitely does, but automatically labeling someone a ___ist because you disagree with them has definitely reduced the quality and constructiveness of debate the in the last few years.

Kislyak reportedly was taken aback by the suggestion of allowing an American to use Russian communications gear at its embassy or consulate — a proposal that would have carried security risks for Moscow as well as the Trump team.

    wtf?!?!?

I think that they have the right, but I also think its a jerk move. I think its a douche move if someone discriminates against a gay person, but I don't think the government should step in, same thing with discrimination based on political alignment.

I could be wrong because I was never a Sean Hannity fan (I followed him on twitter, thats the extent of it) but didn't he just investigate the Seth Rich story? Did he ever really say "Hillary Clinton had Seth Rich bumped off after he consulted wikileaks"?

He more or less outright said Seth Rich was the wikileaks source from the DNC, and heavily implied this had everything to do with his death.

Seth Rich, slain DNC staffer, had contact with WikiLeaks, say multiple sources

    ^ Fox retracted this story
