Slimeballs and slime blocks are absolutely critical to any kind of advanced Redstone contraptions. One issue with the current economy is the sheer lack of slime on the market. There are several reasons for this.
    1. Slimes only spawn in 2 locations. The first is in swamps with light levels below 7 above Y 40. Due to the nerfs on natural mob spawn rates (which I do not suggest tampering with), they are nearly non-existent.
    2. Slime chunks are the other method of spawning. About one out of every ten chunks will generate as a slime chunk. They spawn Slimes in large spaces regardless of light level below Y 40. There is no way to find a slime chunk on the server except by blind luck. There are tools that exist to help users pinpoint slime chunks, but they require entering a seed, which would be a very dumb move for the server to make in releasing it.
    3. Slime is used in large quantities when it is in projects, meaning it is quickly used up.
So, I would like to add a slime chunk finder plugin.

What this does, is the user has a tool (that can be generated, or even sold in the /warp shop!) that is used to generate a map that sees if the current chunk is indeed a slime chunk. The plugin already has the config files to do this in two ways to deal with it. Either the tool set can have limited uses, and be sold in the server shop, or running a command version charges the player for each individual search.

This will not damage the economy in any way, but help it greatly. Yes, the individual price per slime ball will go down, but only because they are no longer a collector's item. Shops will have enough to actually stock their stores, and so forth. In addition, natural spawn are still nerfed, too, so it isn't exactly building a gold farm.

    Plugin: SCF

    Thanks for reading!

Just like swamps, spawns in chunks are also nerfed. The chunks are already exist but, like you say, spawns are rare. Good suggestion but not a solution.

Another consideration is why the server is set up this way. I believe its to reduce the number of large redstone machines. The reason for this is two fold. One is the lag they induce and secondly the effect on the eco of over supply derived from minimal effort as a result of the redstone machine. Due to these considerations the current set up is an annoying but effective compromise.

I agree completely they are too rare right now and by making them less of an annoyance to obtain it will encourage people to use more in their builds which can only improve them

If you do a quest (second quest) you can get a slimeball in like 30 secs but its super tiring

Another way is duping but slime gets stuck in duping machines ._.

Yeah, but should they be made easier to obtain? I don't think so. Slimeballs are worth more than diamonds right now and we don't need to turn it into another deflated, worthless item. In gamma, someone made an efficient farm and the price dropped so rapidly...

I agree they shouldn't be made readily available, but if this slime chunk finder was, for example, in the Vip+ /warp shop, for some (reasonable) amount, it would make the slime business more accessible (though not cheap hopefully), and it would deduct meebles from the eco, and it would be a donator perk.

As I said in the OP, yes, the individual price will go down. Why is that a good thing? Because there isn't an existing supply in the first place. The Vshop doesn't have a single slime ball on it, and using the quest is technically glitch abuse. Here's the difference between Slimeballs and diamonds. Diamonds, you need relatively few of. You need only enough to have armor and a set or two of tools. With Slimeballs, you can use them by hundred, which keeps the market of player transactions moving. We also have to bear in mind the circumstances of when slime spawn rates were changed. We had hundreds of people all making giant farms at once. Now we have between thirty to fifty on at once. If the server can support when 300 people would log in per second back a few months, it can take some extra machines.

Actually, most of the big redstone machines didn't work or produced severe lag in Gamma and I'm pretty sure that they won't just magically start working again...

And adding this plugin leads to multiple towns with multiple people having farms, not just one person, which can actually lead to a hault in the slime trade (when people produce their own slime)

You really are not constantly using Slimeballs to make machines either. There's a limit to what you can make (unless you want a trampoline or something)

Also, the Quest Method is not a glitch abuse as it utilizes functions of plugins that were meant to happen, and is not a bug. It's called using your resources to its best ;)

I see no problem with a bigger slimeball market.

    1. People need slimeballs for sticky pistons and slime blocks. Most people don't need a gigantic supply, but some supply is better than no supply.

    2. Spawns are low, preventing large inflation. Either way, slime is ridiculously overpriced because of its rarity.

    3. People will not make slime farms if it doesn't benefit them. If lots of people make slime farms, then slimeballs will be worth less. The decrease in worth makes creating new farms for slimeballs useless. People will not waste their time making useless farms, they will only do so as long as there's a high enough demand for the product.

    4. Most people will not produce their own slime as not all chunks are slime chunks. It should be noted that not all towns would even allow the creation of slime farms and not all people choose to create farms for everything.

    5. People will not need a ridiculous amount of slime, but it doesn't mean people don't need any. I personally think it would be nice to be able to make sticky pistons, which is impossible without slimeballs.

-1 slime chunks should be rare, and as
    said, this wouldn't fix it.

Btw, with this comment, the server is NOT supposed to be like this. Multiple plugins have a hold on mobs, but we do not know which one is destroying the natural spawn rate in claimed plots. (Got this info from @KlutchDecals maybe it will be fixed in the next 6 months instead of 8 since this is kind of a reminder to look at it? Maybe...)

Due to other ideas that have been proposed to resolve this same issue, this suggestion has been denied.
