So as you all know, there was a bug with farmer that allowed you to place and crop and break it right after and still get farmer pay. This lead to farmer not paying you for breaking crops, which is really hard for the people that built giant farms as their main source of money. I have an idea to still pay you for breaking crops, but not allow you to infinite money grind.

If there was a cool down for getting money for breaking crops after breaking them, you can't infinite money grind by placing and breaking as well, but because us people with big farms plant and wait for the crops to grow, we'd still get paid for the crops. I'm thinking maybe a 2 minute timer after you plant crops that prevents you from getting money for breaking until it has expired. That way you can't place and break crops 120x a minute to get massive amounts of money.

They are not fixing it according to xt3kx. you have to sell your crops to /warp farming now. xt3kx said to post any suggestions I had on working around it..

Ill try to explain the process here.

So with your process, and the reason I never liked it in the first place is this.

Scenario A. (cooldown on each block place)
*theirs now a log of every block in every place all with timers, in towns and wild. The amount of lag is tremendous.

Scenario B. (cooldown per break of say, 3 seconds.)
*You now have to wait 3 seconds between each break of every crop. Can still be macroed and abused with 1 crop, on 1 spot.

Now say we go with the better of those 2.
Say you start out with 100 crops. we pay per break and now you have 200 crops.
    You expand.
You now break them and have 400 crops.
    You expand.
    You now have 800 crops.
    You expand.
    . . . . . . . . . .

The jobs plugin will eventually be paying (whatever the price per break is) for crops that are WORTHLESS. The value goes entirely out the window and it simply becomes a block to make money. place, break, expand, more money. On top of that you're gaining XP and the value per block is now increasing to level 200, (3x the base value).

The way I have set it up will now give you Xp, and Points.
Youll be able to rank up and be the best farmer for farming, as well as spend the points in the /jobs shop, on some pretty cool farming items.

The crops you farm you now bring to the market to sell to the shop, giving you the money and taking the block out of the eco so its not ever expanding. It has a set value so they will never be worthless.
If you want to expand, you dont get paid and you expand, boosting your next payment. Like real farming.

I hope this clears it up.

According to this logic it almost seems like all jobs shouldn't exist due to the fact they pay you more than the value of the item you are aquiring.

I think the current way (/warp farming) is ideal.

However, I just found out about /warp farming from this thread. Could use a little more visibility. I suggest adding it to the server announce rota.

I think this is an awesome idea. I like the way farming currently is with the warp, but advertising in-server should be implemented so people that don't have a forums account or just generally don't know can find out about this in a more accessible way.

Not saying the forums aren't accessible but if they're already on the server then it wouldn't be hard to add it into the ads rota

They pay you more than the value of the item for two reasons.
    1. To give players a decent starting income so they don't quit within 15 minutes
    2. So that there is ample money in each player's pockets so they can buy things on vshop and further promote player to player trades.
This is how the current system works, and so far it has been better than any previous system

I had no idea about /warp farming. Glad I read the forums.

And your solution sounds very elegant, Klutch. I'll have to give Farmer some further thought.

(written for players who want to optimize farming income in the current system)

honestly, the best use for crops is trading to farmer for emeralds. get a good farmer and each stack of crops yields 3-4 emeralds. (emeralds current value is 35-60, so crops are worth approx 30-55 x 3 (or 4) per stack (90-165:120-220) (figuring in taxes for v-shop/ chest shop would mean no taxes) per stack. If you're willing to put in the time to trade.

Additional value added for the xp you earn for villager trading (it takes approx 56 emeralds to go from 27 to 30.) you can either enchant and sell items, or bottle the xp. I forget the precise yields, but you're looking at around 1-2 stacks of xp bottles so, another 15 x 64 = 256 per 56/4 = 14 stacks, so aprox 20 more meebles per stack for the xp for trading to a total of 55-80 per stack.

It's a decent bit of effort to harvest/plant/trade, but at 110-240 per stack (dependent on selling emeralds/xpbottles) as base income, it's profitable enough.

Additionally, those emeralds are best used to trade with a librarian for good enchants which can be sold for 1-4k each, so farming really doesn't need much of a bump, people just need to use it to it's fullest potential.

    *edit: forgot to multiple something
*edit: also, by sharing this information, it will increase the amount of emeralds put on the market by this method and slightly decrease the value
*edit: i expect the emerald market to bottom out and stabilize between 15 and 35, so you can plug in those numbers, it's still pretty profitable

Actually, that write up makes me want to try farming less. It's easy to get over 100 meebles in under a minute with fishing and you also get enchanting books...

edit: but how do you create xp bottles? I didn't realize we had the ability...

What other secret commands do I not know about? I know there used to be a guidebook in game. Is that still a thing?

Either way, farming is way less profitable now and is inferior over other jobs
