Please rethink your decision on deleting this thread until after you have read this.
So let me get this straight.
This past week, staff have been telling us not to worry about the blacklisting of Meep?
You completely LIED and SCAMMED the entire community.
The main (not only) people to blame here, is the administration of this server. The administration is supposed to protect this server. Yet, they have only put it into further danger. Meep was blacklisted because the administration did not comply with the EULA of Mojang. Administration put the illegal ranks back on the server. Even if it was a "hacker" that happened to just wipe everything out, doesn't that show any type of failure in the system of your security?
After being blacklisted by Mojang, why would you push the limits even further?
Why are you angry at the community that YOU scammed?
Instead of focusing on "deleting the negative comments of the community" how about you listen to them for once, and maybe this problem can be avoided.
To the people who just WASTED their money on the ranks they just bought. I'm sorry to you.
To people who were told not to worry about the blacklist of Meep by the staff. I'm sorry to you too.
And to the people who used their valuable time playing this game. I'm sorry to you too.
Whether or not meep was hacked by someone, or shut by Mojang, the administration (not just admins, anyone who is apart of developing this server) still severely failed at their job.
Therefore, instead of trying to blame the issue on some hacker, or whatever you decided, the administration should apologize for THEIR actions. Or the actions they didn't take.
    HOWEVER
There is still a bright side. I am allowed to rant and express my anger. It is very difficult to fix anything without understanding your failure. There is always a good to a bad, and a bad to a good. I hope the administration has learned for what they've done, and will not make the same mistake again.
Since I saw the "No Word" thread, I have noticed many old Meepers coming back on the forums. This is a good sign, and the admins should take it upon themselves to listen and even ask the old Meepers on ways to improve. I understand there is only a handful of staff, however it doesn't mean it is impossible. You guys can figure out better ways to improve your communication with the community.
For the community. I urge you to rant and rage. It is psychologically natural. You put in so much work for this game and to see it all disappear, is where I can understand you're anger. I go through it at work almost everyday. However, you still have to look at the bright side. The community is what keeps the server alive, and it is what keeps it strong. The community and the staff collide when there is disagreements. That will happen, in any aspect of life. It is impossible to avoid. However, it should be a responsible collision. You will only get what you want if the community negotiates cohesively, instead of divided.
In the past, the server may not have been cohesive, however, hopefully both the community, and the administration have learned from the consequences and will resolve the issue undivided.
My two points, may not make sense in the same thread, however admitting failure and understanding what you did wrong will make this server move on. This goes for both the community and the administration

I really hope I don't hear excuses from the administration, because it will only make you look worse, and you will further yourself and the rest of the server from improving.

    ????????????????
Mojang is NOT involved in the current issue in ANY way. Did you even read the thread?
The current issue is that someone who had access to console deleted all of meep's data.

Why would the admins rake responsibility for actions they didnt take? And again... they did apologize. Did you read the thread or did you ignore 90% of it?

Literally no one here is responsible for ANYTHING wrong except the ONE person that deleted the files.

It is not the admin's, or any staff's, or the community's fault.

    Chill the hell out.

To quote your own status "I just don't know why there wouldn't be any backups." Yes whoever deleted the files is largely to blame, but not solely. Any business, especially one that relies on electronic data should have a solid backup recovery plan in place. I can understand if there were external factors at play but to be told "we just never got around to setting up the backups" kind of also adds some responsibility to what is currently happening.

The first step in New Meep should be getting a backup recovery plan +1

    Oh I'm chill.
You just need to stop being completely oblivious of the issue.
To me, personally. I think it is suspicious that Meep's security was breached the same week that it was blacklisted from Mojang. Hmmmm? Not suspicious at all?

The actions that they did not take was obviously holding string enough security. If they claim it was security that was breached, that was an issue on their part.
If it was not breached by some hacker, and if it was just Mojang that shut down the server, then it is their fault for not complying with the rules.

The one person that deleted the files breached into Meeps failed security.
The people who keep this server running just let this entire server crash to the ground, and you're saying it isn't the people that keep this server running is not to blame?

I think you misunderstand your position. You're a player, your choice includes:

    1) Staying and playing
    2) Leaving and not play

The server staff have no obligation to tell any player a single thing, I'd consider yourself lucky they decided to say anything at all.

Of course. That is true. They do not have any obligation to tell any player a single thing. But thats why this server has died, and I urge them to continue with it. It's part of the game.

    Touche.

no, not really, considering the high transparency of the team. I may not always like klutch, but I trust him not to straight up lie LOL

It was a tech that was on the server for like a year. Pretty trustworthy looking IMO. Look at spyda - he recently got off the team and went off about how klutch was making threats - had to have been him.

I don't understand why you're acting like this anyways. Don't be the one person who has to ask to see the manager of the store because you don't like how this is going for you.

crap happens, move on, if you want stuff done, try to be helpful. Complaining is the opposite of that

To clarify, the recent tech failure is not related to Mojang.

Okay, well I guess I'm the only who thinks it is suspicious that the server was blacklisted the same week it was breached.

You could talk about who they were trustworthy and what not, but the server failed, and that falls on them.

I'm not asking or demanding anything, and if it came across that way, then I guess I am sorry?
All I am doing is urging them to realize this issue, and avoid any further consequences.
If they don't, then crap like this will most likely happen again. It's just helpful advice.
I'm not complaint, I'm expressing anger.

there is the one bad tech and all the perfectly fine people up there. The perfectly fine people are... perfectly fine.

lol I think they know there is an issue considering they are trying to build an entire server from the ground up
    people learn from mistakes

what is the point of this thread

IMO the only thing I think the admins could have done better is create backups of the server files. Though we've all been really quick to point at the tech wiping files as the cause of all this grief, it would have been averted if someone with CONSOLE made a backup of the server before it went down.

No matter though, a reset was probably needed for better or for worse.

Thats entirely wrong. If I'm an idiot who takes a nap in the middle of a crowded bustop with 15 100$ bills peeping out of my back pocket wearing a shirt that says "SUGAR DADDY", and wake up to see my money mysteriously gone, its my fault for being stupid with my money, not the people who took them. Meepcraft is basically the "SUGAR DADDY" in this scenario, Admins neglected to make backups, something so simple, EVEN AFTER THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED TWO YEARS AGO.

"Under CrueltyGaming’s directive, the original community forums and custom systems were deleted, the entire original staff of MeepCraft was fired and disbanded, and it was rumored that the very next directive was to reset the Towns world with a new rank system (which would result in the removal of the ranks that you payed for!)."

Ever heard of the saying "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me?" If I leave my door unlocked and I get robbed, its equal parts my fault for keeping my door unlocked. If I give my loaded gun to my 6 year old son to play with and he mysteriously dies, its my fault I gave him such a dangerous weapon. So tell me, how the hell is this not Meepcraft's fault for neglecting to back up files, even after the same exact scenario happened two years earlier?

Admins need to apologize because they enabled this type of thing to happen, they did the crime just as much as the mysterious person who did it. People spent years building and creating towns which is all gone now because of a stupid, careless mistake staff didnt learn from.

Server not backed up, well the Techs are only Human, and they are working on Meepcraft because they enjoy it. Things like this happen, and they happen to bigger entities then what Meepcraft is.

Moral, mistakes happen, and sometimes things that should be in place aren't. But ultimately someone violated Meepcraft and deleted a bunch of information. Meepcraft Staff will rebuild, and the community will rebuild and hopefully we become better then before.

Christ the amount of ideas you have put into your head is unbelievable, if you really wanted to get your point across to myself for one talk to me on discord because majority of the time when i see these half baked threads that have no thought into it what so ever I disregard. If you really would like to express your anger in a more constructive way talk to me on discord whether its ideas or to express your anger because I love to talk instead of 1 line sentences with CAPS every here and there.

Kling, why not acknowledge that this person, who has played meepcraft and dedicated time to it, has a right to be mad that all of his work was suddenly thrown down the drain because admins were too preoccupied to create backups. He doesn't need to express his anger constructively, because your staff team didn't take the aftermath of CrueltyGaming's reign constructively and create backups to avoid anything like this. Not only does this person have the right to create "half baked" threads, but he's justified in doing so because the thing that just happened was so stupid and juvenile that one would really have to question if the entire staff team was "half baked" to allow something like this to happen.

@7acespade I should have worded that better, yes I will read the thread but I am not bothered as to write out a detailed response to someone that has mashed their keyboard and put multiple ideas into their head. I quite frankly understand that he is upset about what happens but do it in a more constructive way like An open letter to the staff team but as I said I will pay more attention to this if he actualy spoke to me instead of typing small sentence that do not go much into detail.
