Okay so as we know, Mending was removed about 1-2 months ago.

This was done in an attempt to save the diamond economy from collapse as it meant no one was buying diamonds for new tools because they would just have immortal ones.

At that point diamonds were at 400-450 on the Vshop, which was an all time low at that time. The removal of mending promised the stabilisation of diamond prices, but since then diamonds have continued to drop. They are now sitting around 300-400.

Here is my suggestion to fix this.
Fix the prices of diamonds by using the bank system just like the price of gold is fixed with the bank.

Granted this would basically make diamond shops useless as if a player tried selling them lower, then they wouldn't be making profit, and if they tried selling higher, no one would buy them. But it would anchor the economy, as it is mainly revolved around diamonds.

This could be a double edged sword, as on one side it would keep the economy stable and prevent it from spiraling out of control like in the past. On the other side it could mean that the economy would become stale and never change, which would take away the aspect of using diamonds like a stocks system, buying low and selling high, which is how some people make money.

I wanna know what you guys think of putting diamonds in the bank system, and how you think it would affect the economy :)

no one would make money off of diamonds. if you make the set price for diamonds 500, then no one will buy them, because they can get someone to make armor/tools for them at a (possible) cheaper price.

That makes no sense though. If diamond prices are fixed, then everything made from diamonds would be fixed as well. So there would be no incentive for someone to sell them cheaper as they would just make more profit selling the diamonds straight to the bank

yeah that's a good point. but the Gold bank adds a lot to the economy everyday.. no one really buys gold except to make Gapples and sometimes powered rails.

Perhaps the economy would even out over time as diamond tools would break, and money would be put back into the bank from people buying diamonds to make tools and armor again

I understand the reasoning behind setting a price on diamonds, but this is exactly why the shop was removed in the first place. By removing the server shop (if you agree with that or not), the idea was to let players make the economy. Item sells is rare? No cap on the max price which had previously been set by the server shop. Basically, adding this back in is no better than adding back the shop. Like I said, there are arguements for and against that in itself, but the diamond market should be free to fluctuate more than any other.

Adding this would hurt the economy even more, because you have a fixed price on one of the most useful materials in the game, but all the rest are not that way. What happens then is all other items slowly drop in value, and diamonds stay as they are because they have a set price. Simply put, this wouldn't work without re-adding the entire server shop.

Diamonds are used for tools, sure, but majority of players don't need that much diamonds because most are used for armor and sword, which are available for much cheaper from supplydrops. As long as supplydrops supply diamond armor and sword, demand for diamonds won't increase, and as there are new diamonds mined every day, it increases the supply, therefore dropping the price of diamonds suddenly.

I suggest that we remove diamond armor and sword from supplydrops and replace them with fix/fly/heal/feed/fill notes, gold, naturally generated chest items, and/or elytra. Also, please remove cactus from supplydrops they are useless af.

The emerald price is dropping now as well. It has decreased about 25% in the past month, from 100 each to 75 each. This is due to the widespread availability of emeralds from villager trading, and almost no demand. The once flourished emerald trading market will become obsolete very soon, and the only market that still somewhat thrives from the emerald market is the ebooks market, which are also facing serious issues with selling.

This may not sound like a bad thing, but it is. Since players get emerald from farming, grinding, etc. it will discourage those activities, and that will create a bad economic cycle of people keeping their money and businesses failing.

With the increase of the population with advanced facilities, it is beginning to be too easy for people to gain what once a valuable item, and it is causing the economy to drop way down than it's supposed to.

I hope that the new jobs will stimulate the economy a little bit, but who knows.

this would do nothing other than make player trades for diamonds nearly zero. People would only sell to the bank when they had diamonds then buy them back when they needed them, just like what happens with gold.

    Socialism socialism socialism.

Now for real. The reason diamonds have dropped in price is because of 2 very simple things. 1. Player base of 50 players. And 2. Once you make diamond tools and armor they could last you a very long time meaning you won't have to buy them again. The only way to fix this is to give diamonds value with custom crafting items that would cost a lot of diamonds and other items thus giving them value. This will never be implemented into meep because meep is a dying server. Economy does not work in vanilla minecraft.

The whole economy can be based off of how successful the villager trade is because the largest demand of an item type is ebooks. But without the meepshop where we could sell our goods, no one has incentive to buy stuff. If you ever notice, the mega rich people never buy anything. They already have it or go get it themselves. The same is true with villager trading, no one buys, when they don't have any sure ways to make money via meepshop, and the people that know how to make money are mega rich and don't spend

This essentially ruins the value of diamonds. The only real use of it then would be for crafting and a bit of building.

You just have to accept the fact that that's how the economy works. As players play on the server, more diamonds are found (though can be wasted xD) or bought off the server and the price drops because diamonds and consecutively becoming less and less rare. Just like real money!

The only pro to this would be PvP. Players would have an even chance in PvP due to the amount of diamonds each player can get out of buying them at one price, but yet people can donate and get more meebles to spend on diamond/enchants.

Bad suggestion, I'd hate to see MeepCraft have this future. Though this wouldn't kill the economy, it would definitely make it worse because most players know about diamonds.

You get money from gmall rither way so

Ok first if you think you are wasting time on my favorite topic you shouldn't really be replying here, for both you and butt. Please please put more attitude if you care.

Also, instead of being rude and saying bad suggestion, suggest how you can improve the suggestion, constructive criticism.

Economy can fluctuate both ways, and instead of accepting the trashy economy we should try to make it better.

Look up the definition of 'rant' ;)

After reading your reply to the suggestion, I do agree, and your quote of my reply, I kind of agree.

Nowhere have I said that the economy is trashy, and if I did, I'm quoting others. I'm trying to be nice as possible but yet still maintain the purpose of a rant.

I do attempt to help the economy! I do it by leveling out the bad and the good. This suggestion isn't that great, but I can see how he's thinking. If you are trying to stable the economy, you have to stable the amount of money on the server, not the price of items.

Once again, I like to be nice. An opinion is an opinion, not a fact. Also mentioning that my reply was 9 lines of text long, I think I might have some idea or came of what's going on. xD

I can see no way in how I can improve this suggestion other than giving people with no money 25k, so good luck improving it ;)

Yours, (I want to be friendly but I see why if you don't),

Rant: to talk loudly and in a way thatshows anger : to complain in a way that is unreasonable

Ok I kind of wasted 2 mins doing that but ok

    Thank you for understanding.

I feel like the economy is trashy. We can't sell things as much as we did last month. Don't we all feel that way?

I highly appreciate your opinion :)
If you give everyone money, that will dealy the economy from being bad. Yes, it might stimulate it for a little, but eventually the richer players will get richer from it and the poorer players will just use their money and stay poor because they dont know how to make money. Then money will stop flowing, and the only final result is inflation.

What do you think about my suggestion on not giving out diamond armor/sword in supplydrops?

    I'm sorry about being disrespectful.

I think that we should keep diamond armor and swords because firstly, I get them all the time. Min. 3 times a day. I understand why you'd like to rid them of diamond, but supplydrops aren't that valuable, about 1-2k in each. It also give people the chance to get diamond (since their hard to find by mining) or it's too expensive.
