    Actually, that's not entirely correct.

Firstly, a minor semantics point. Scientific studies cannot "prove" anything; they can only provide evidence toward a conclusion.

Second: your point is not correct. While there's been some speculation about leaky viruses causing individuals to fall ill, and then transmitting the virus (and more severe symptoms) to unvaccinated people, this can be prevented by simply vaccinating the rest of the population. You might be referring to improper antibiotic usage causing antibiotic-resistant bacteria (an important distinction here). Antibiotic-resistant bacteria is actually a real problem, and has the potential to create superbacteria that are untreatable with current drugs; however, that's beyond the scope of this discussion.

    How?

There are already forms of bacteria that are almost 100% resistant to modern medicine. Whether or not vaccines had anything to do with it is besides my point; I just thought it would be interesting to share

This is due to improper antibiotic usage. Let me explain below.

Imagine a bacterium that's protected by a cell wall. Now imagine that this bacterium is protected by a cell wall. Now, let's say you treat the bacteria with some antibiotics, which penetrate the cell wall and break down the bacteria, rendering it harmless. The bacteria is now dead, right? The same concept works with bacterial infections--antibiotics kill bacteria, and clean up the infection.

Now, imagine that you treat an infection with antibiotics, killing most of the bacteria. The patient begins to feel better, because most (not all) of the bacteria are dead. Since the patient feels better, he stops taking antibiotics. Now, the bacteria that are left over begin to multiply, and create a new infection. However, these new bacteria have evolved, as they now have characteristics that make it impossible for the antibiotic to penetrate the cell wall. This is how resistance develops--and it's become a major problem now, not only in developing countries, but in the first world.

Pharmaceutical companies, mostly because of low profit margins associated with antibiotic development, actually don't bother developing new antibiotics anymore, so the ones we're using are more or less 70 years old. Obviously, this creates problems when bacteria are evolving and aren't treatable by "modern" medicine.

Well, evolution tends to favor stronger genes. If we train our immune systems to just get strength injected into them, then they really can't build the strength on their own. Although, that's all hypothetical. Don't ask me to provide actual evidence.

Resistance is also a problem because doctors LOVE over-prescribing antibiotics. I had a bad cough for about 2-3 weeks (after I had the flu, so it was most likely just a post-viral cough). I went to the doctor and they gave me antibiotics for whooping cough. I didn't have whooping cough. They really just give them out to shut people up. (And to make more money? Not sure if they make more money with prescriptions.)

Some new antibiotics are still being made. Though, I'm betting they will also became useless sometime in the future.

First of all, it should be your choice whether to inject monkey DNA in your body or not. It's just like choosing to eat GMO's. It's really silly how people have to take vaccines that they can't afford, or they don't want to use. If you get sick from not taking it, it's your fault...

I know a person with a child who took vaccination and got autism. I don't care if you don't believe that, but the links/images you have posted are absolutely disrespectful and rude to not only people who suffers from vaccination, but to people like me who know others that are suffering. Please take that off of your post.

I agree that there is only 1/1000000 chance of getting sick from most vaccines, but that is not true for all vaccines. There are many vaccines that doctors are recommending to take, that have caused problems at high rates.

Even if the probability of getting sick from a vaccine is 1/1000000, mandating the vaccination to the whole United States will technically force 300 people into autism.

Please do consider that, and what I'd do is only take the vaccines that are mandatory.

Actually, they did a study, and the ratio of kids who were vaccinated and got autism is the same as the ratio of kids who weren't vaccinated and got autism. Basically, it shows that the kid that got vaccinated and got autism was just a coincidence. The kid would have gotten autism with or without the vaccination.

Vaccines could be a trigger though for certain health issues. For example: Kids with certain kinds of epilepsy will have a seizure when exposed to a vaccine. Not because the vaccine is harming them, but because it's a trigger (and keep in mind a lot of things could count as a trigger).

I got vaccinated to be able to go to private school last year, and that's the only time I have been vaccinated to my knowledge. Aside from the occasional cold which cannot be vaccinated against I do not get sick. Perhaps I have a strong immune system. I truly do not know. For me at least, I do not find vaccines to be necessary. I do not know nor do I wish to speculate if Autism is related to vaccines.

All I can say is if the flu shot works so well then you can take my shot as well. You could be double protected. If you take the shot, by me not taking one how does the SJW get rekt?.
Whats next? Forcing Fat people to lose weight or no welfare? You're all brainwashed.

The real issue here is Choice and the choice of not taking the FS just can't affect your health, only mine. How many of you smoke? How many are too fat?
I'm not here to convince you, I'm here to ask if you're trying to convince me. If I choose not to take it why get mad Bro? You take my choice away and they will soon take your choice later.
    It's that simple.

The real problem here is that adults have seen many commercials with brand new RSSI's destroying lives. I'm living through a nightmare right now with my mother and brother. No media attention other than the endless commercials of lawyer's asking if you took a recently developed drug and experienced side effects even death. You people need to wake up.

Here something else you could maul over. These vacc comp's have lobbied government in order to be immune to prosecution if problems arise. So you are calling me someone who is paranoid and maybe someone who is critical of government when we see government is mostly a toothless tiger or corrupt enough to allow money to influence them. You wish to take this stuff? Are your not concerned at all that if the vaccines do happen to damage your family you have no recourse to remedy the additional expenses of taking care of that said family member.

To come here and express your opinions in a manner that to suggest I am a idiot? Do these companies function non profit? I do believe you all need to rethink your position on these matters after having gone through all information. Your doctor does care about your family but would that doctor still be practicing if he felt the medication has problems?

What government institution is charged with the fiduciary responsibility of your wellbeing? FDA? if your in America, The same FDA that believes Aspertame was safe BTW they changed the name to Sucralose.

Like I said I'm not here to change your mind, you may do what you want that is the concept here. You have a choice, the same thing you wish to deny me and one day others will deny you after you socially accept that presidence. This is where your cognitive dissonance kicks in.

No, I choose not to take it. Thank you for your concern.

Kind of stopped reading half way because the way you write is aggravating and your tone is extremely off-putting. Other than that I think the gist of what you're trying to say is,"What about our freedom of choice? What if I simply don't want to be vaccinated?". Well the problem with that is that there are people who have certain medical problems and can not be vaccinated. Because of this, they are prone to new and virulent illnesses. In order to prevent these people from getting sick, everyone around them must be vaccinated. This is called herd immunity. However, if people start to refuse vaccinations, the herd immunity becomes extremely weak and the people who medically can not get vaccinated get sick because people want "freedom of choice".

Ok so I have to put my family and I at risk for the greater good. I feel safer already. Please tell me why their lives are worth more than my family? If me or my family become ill from the side effects will you pay for my well being as it seems to stand now that I am not allowed to take these companies to court.
Oh and by the way thank you for reading the whole post. It was the least you could do before casting judgment on my concerns. Probably shows others how much concern you do have for others.

I still have not gotten a good enough reason why I have to put my family at risk for others. So all that crap you can give to your liberal masters that put all that crap into your head.

Because we put our families "at risk" for yours.
I'll take something I see in the doctor's office all the time - the whooping cough vaccination. Whooping cough is very harmful for young children, and can be lethal. Would you let people that can easily be carrying this disease around your kid?
Simply put, vaccinating those who can be protects those who can't be. Yes, you have a choice by choosing to be vaccinated. However - your choice directly affects the health of others. Thus, it is not /only/ your choice.

Vaccinations do not make us immune to the disease necessarily, especially if it mutates. It makes us heavily resistant.
You use this as examples of unregulated "choices" of health, yes?
But being fat does not affect others - it's not contagious. And how many places have bans on smoking, because it affects not just the person smoking, but those around them? Non-smoking places are /everywhere/. If anything, that directly counters your own argument.

I... I don't think she would be? I'm not sure what you mean by this at all.

We don't wish to deny you choice of vaccinations against minor illnesses (i.e. flu), but extreme, debilitating and life-threatening illnesses, yeah.
What do you mean by accepting the precedent? I'm unclear as to what precedent this sets, as it is within the government's legal rights (America) to regulate health concerns like these because it affects not just the individual, but the many.

Was that choice yours? I assume you did that because you expected the same in return right? Well I guess that makes me obligated. Be vary careful taking other peoples choices away. Others will take yours away someday.

Not to be abrasive here but I'm done trying to explain this any further, as you can see the point is very simple. It's my choice. I choose not to take it. Just like it's your choice to take the shot.

I don't think it's a simple case of, "My body, my rules.", because you're putting other people in jeopardy due to this decision you're making. The fundamental principle behind the rationale you're invoking, is that you are allowed to control your own body. That it's 'your life, your call'. But as I think we can all agree upon (on some level, anyway), "The freedom to swing your arm ends at my face.". You can swing your arm freely as much as you like. But the moment you start putting other peoples well-being at risk? We have a problem.

Let's take this example to the extreme, just to illustrate a point. If you had the Zika virus, would it be acceptable for you to deny treatment, continuing your life as you would normally? Clearly not, right? Because the minute you step out your front door, you're potentially infecting other people. It's exactly the same principle in play here. If you're not immunized against the virus, you're putting everyone's life in danger due to the fact that your body is a viable host for the strain.

If my choice to not take the mandated vaccines is against the law what stops them from using that process for other things?

Why can't you see that? I don't know, maybe we have not reached that point as a society yet. That is the precedence I am referring to. It may seem as I am being unreasonable, however I feel (after all my family medical problems I still am having) My holy grail, the proverbial line drawn in the sand,to be redundant is the right to protect my life against gross administrative negligence when I have no way of suing the companies after damages have been done because that company can afford lobbyist to push that through law. That was done to help speed up research into creating newer drugs. After all there is no new money to be used in research.

I understand that I should give people the benefit of the doubt. However that doubt is worsened when I hear "Open Borders" in reference to Zika.
I was going to say more but if you won't bring your self to understand why this is so important to me then what can I say? I might as well get used to having this done to me and my family. When I become an administrative acceptable percentage that gets damaged then what will you be able to say to help me and my family? Will there be someone to fix that? Will anyone who thought I am a bad guy be there to help? I don't think so. Everyone makes there mind up a certain way due to the situation they find or found them self in the past.

We live in a western country just for that same reason. Hey it's not like we are in a communist ruled country (yet?). I feel that things that separate us from those types of gov. are being taken away slowly with every good intention.

Hopefully one day we may come to some understanding.

@CanadianMinerBoi -- If my choice to not take the mandated vaccines is against the law what stops them from using that process for other things?

Can you specify these "other things"? Give us some examples to better understand how you're approaching this.

Why would you have to sue these companies?

That was done to help speed up research into creating newer drugs. After all there is no new money to be used in research.

I'm afraid I don't know what this means.

I understand that I should give people the benefit of the doubt. However that doubt is worsened when I hear "Open Borders" in reference to Zika.

I'm not sure what this means either. I'm trying desperately to understand you. Forgive my lack of comprehension for a second and ignore the trolls. If you were addressing Fang here, I apologize. But my example about Zika was one that attempted to illustrate that you (rightly, in my eyes) don't always have the last say when it comes to what you do with your own body (Because it's potentially putting the safety of others in jeopardy).

Who is the "bad guy" you're referring to? Why do you feel victimized? What will need to be fixed? I'm so confused.

I don't think so. Everyone makes there mind up a certain way due to the situation they find or found them self in the past.

I'm routinely running-up against phrases or sentences that I don't quite 'get'. "Makes their mind up" implies a rigidity in one's position. Something I don't think I have. There's also an implication that we must draw from our own personal experiences, which I don't think is necessarily true either.

We live in a western country just for that same reason. Hey it's not like we are in a communist ruled country (yet?). I feel that things that separate us from those types of gov. are being taken away slowly with every good intention.

Hopefully one day we may come to some understanding.

Please don't take this the wrong way. I appreciate your comments, and the time you're taking to talk about an issue you feel passionately about. That's awesome. Keep doing that. But a fair amount of your post doesn't talk about vaccinations, at least directly. It's 3 paragraphs of what seems like venting (just my impression). We've gone from; vaccines, to pharma companies, to legal procedures, to Open Borders, to 'being the bad guy', to Communism... and it all just seems like your thoughts have gone from your mind to the keyboard with no filter in-between. That's not intended to be insulting, and if it is, I apologize. I just want to talk about vaccines, and why you don't seem to be in support of them. With that in mind, I'd love a quick answer to 3 very quick, very simple requests, so we can start making progress on this issue.

    (1) Give me the best reason you have, against vaccination.

    (2) I'd love to have any evidence you have, that supports the answer to (1)

    (3) What would change your mind on this issue? What would I have to do, to convince you of the contrary?
