This isn't a deep question, a deep question is like, what happens for the eternity after we die and after that I cry in my bed all night and wake up at midnight to drink pop and then cry to sleep thinking we are worthless pieces of the whole and will die and will die and will die and will die soon, and have so little to look forward to, nuclear war, oil shortage, extreme storms, droughts, and more, and thing we are doomed and are going to die and look at nothing for eternity, and think what is eternity, how long is it, and realize humans cannot grasp the sheer size of eternity with our small minds, even thinking f
Of it as a loop doesn't help.

    That 10:12pm rant deserves 100k

And it's more of deep thinking then a rant

And now I'm going to cry realizing death in inevertible, and that I've lived over 1/8 of my life

    No, I wouldn't go.

What's the intrinsic value of an experience? Experiences are only valuable when you can share them with loved ones, or when insights you gain can be shared with society for human good. Even if I were able to experience great adventures, and see a profound reality, there'd be no point because I'd have nobody to talk to. Besides, the knowlege I might gain cannot, by the stipulations of the contract, benefit humankind--so what's the point? As humans, we're called to better society in some way, shape or form--whatever our talents are, we have an obligation to contribute to humankind.

Without humans, I'd be terribly lonely; although I could interact with the aliens, the connection that we feel as humans vanishes, and I'd be unable to bond (at any real level) with the aliens. It's like being that one awkward kid in the corner in the middle school cafeteria who watches everyone eat lunch, except with the knowlege that your loneliness lasts a lifetime. Or it's like being in solitary confinement, where you wouldn't get to experience human contact and are completely isolated from the world you know. The loneliness would drive me mad and probably cause some kind of mental illness similar to those suffered in solitary confinement. [off topic, but this is an essay penned by a guy who's serving life in solitary confinement, and it's a pretty good read].

Also, answering yes would indicate some degree of selfishness, as your friends, family, etc. wouldn't know what ever happened to you. They'd be constantly worried about you, and think you're dead--causing great pain. Would you want to cause great pain to your loved ones for the sake of your own experiences? It's a really selfish action, and if you have any sort of morals at all, you'd be weighed down by the knowlege that your loved ones are back home pining for you. Given that y can't contact them, you'd have no way to let them know you're okay. That hurts, doesn't it?

I'm curious to hear your answer, if you have one too..

Apologies for grammar or spelling errors, as I ruled this on my phone.

Why is the time relevant? Is 10:12 P.M. late to you?
How do you know that you've lived over 1/8 of your life? Are you planning when you're going to die?

As for the question, I think that I should go, but I don't think that I would. I want to learn as much about our universe as I can and if I were to be granted this opportunity, I think I'd be obligated to take it. I don't think, however, that I actually would be able to take it. I have a difficult time accepting and dealing with change (imagine the change of never seeing anyone or anything that I've ever known again) and I could generally function fine without human contact, I don't think that I'd be able to accept never seeing my family again.

    this is an interesting question.
There are probably a lot of loopholes but I'm just gonna ask some questions first
    1) Do you have a chance to wait until you grow older to take the chance?
    2) Will you be immortal?
    3) Are we talking just generic aliens? Like roswell grays?

I feel like the cool sights wouldn't be enough to stop me from living a life here on Earth because Earth is pretty great and chances are we humans will eventually invent the same tech.

    No, because:

    My Dearest Charlotte,

I hope this letter finds you. I hope and pray that you'll treasure this; my words of truly profound and deep love for you always and forever!

Charlotte, I never knew a love like this could exist. I never thought it possible. Then I met you. I thought I knew what love was. You've shown me that I didn't know what it was at all. Not until I met you. Now, My Charlotte; I know what love is. I know; finally know what true love is. It is you. You are love itself. You are love incarnate! You are loves very soul. You are it's heart.

Charlotte; you fell from heaven and into my arms. You vanquished my lonely heart; my sorrow, my sadness, the emptiness inside, my despair of living without ever knowing and having all that which is you. True love! A love that is so pure, so precious a thing it can never be tainted. Nothing will ever tear us apart! No force in this world or in the heavens could ever take me away from you! No distance however great will ever diminish my unwavering devotion to you. Time; time will never get our love! Time apart from you will only make my love for you that much stronger. Stronger than it already is for you.

Charlotte, you are my beating heart. You are the air I breathe. You complete me. You make me whole. You; Charlotte, are my life! Without you I could not exist. Without you I wouldn't want to go on living! Without you I'd die! Without you I would never have met a man named Joachin Gurkenberry whom I love so dearly.

    My Dearest Charlotte,

Your smile melts my heart. The look in your eyes for me sends the sweetest chills through me. I can spend countless hours just looking deep into your eyes. I get lost in your eyes, My Love!

Charlotte, I am yours now and forever! I will stay with you for all eternity. I will fulfill my wedding vow to you, my sweet love. Til death do us part! Death is the only way I'll part from you! This I swear! This I promise you my love. Even after death I will ask that I be re-born and united with you again for another lifetime. My love for you is eternal. The flame of my love for you; for our love will never be extinguished.

Charlotte; My Sweet Charlotte, my passion for you grows and grows at a frightening rate with each passing moment. Making love to you for the first time; kissing your lips and embracing you for the first time will be moments that seem to last a lifetime in and of themselves. Like if time stopped and all there was you and I. The world and everything else dropping away and all there was, was our love; our cries of unrelenting bliss in each others arms.

My most precious love; know this always....

I will always protect you. I will always cherish you and every moment we share; forever! I will always keep you safe and free from harm. I will never let you go! You are the most important thing that's happened to me in my entire life! You are my life! Without you I couldn't breathe! My heart would stop beating! Before you came into my life I wonder how I ever endured. I thank the heavens for sending me you; my baby. You've made me see that there are things worth fighting for and dying for! My Love; I'd die for you!

Charlotte; My Love, I will always love you in this life and the next. Our love for each other will echo through the ages! You are My Queen and I am your King! Our children will be our little Prince and Princess!

I cannot wait to say and hear you say, "I DO" my love. My Wife to be! I'm the happiest man alive because I've you in my life. Charlotte; My Love. I love you through and through. You are the reason I wake each morning with such joy and warmth in my heart. Your the reason my dreams are so amazing and filled with such heavenly visions; visions of you, my love! Your the reason my heart skips a beat whenever I gaze upon your beauty. I could never imagine a life without you. I don't know how I ever lived before without you.

I wouldn't go, cuz The more you have the more you want, if I saw the whole universe then, I would want to see more and more after that. I would rather stay on earth and make a difference here then leave everyone I care about behind. Also my girlfriend would kill me, even if I was in a different Galaxy.

Im not answering this for 100k, I couldn't care less about ingame. I personally would not. Your family is all you really knew and you have the strongest bond with them that can not be broken. A fool would say yes to that choice, These 'aliens' could just use you as a lab rat, because to them we are the aliens. I wouldnt want things to change, its nice here having a loving and caring family. Yes I do see it would be cool to see whats out there in space but the negatives tumble over the positives. Astronomy has always been a entertaining topic to talk about for me, and getting a chance to go and explore whats out there would be a once in a life time opportunity. But I care about my family more than my wonders of space.

Tbh I think you're the fool for thinking everyone's family loves and cares for them.

Taking this at face value which is "travel the universe but leave everything" rather than "they could experiment on you etc". From my point of view it's an easy choice. Stay on earth, live a normal boring life always wondering what if and then die never having experienced this or travel the universe meeting God knows what seeing God knows what and doing what no one else has ever done before. Within a heartbeat I would choose to travel.
