Hey meepers!

I was thinking that MeepCraft should have its own wiki. I went on Google and searched to see if there already was one. There seems to be one at meepcraft.wikia.com, but it is outdated. I'm not sure if that's even an official wiki or not, so this is my idea.

MeepCraft should have a wiki on the website's domain somewhere. Since the base domain uses XenForo, an extra wiki sub-domain (like wiki.meepcraft.com) could run a wiki software like MediaWiki. Staff members would be able to edit pages. If that wiki on Wikia is official, the contents of it should be updated and perhaps moved to a place like wiki.meepcraft.com so that the wiki would seem more official and not contain ads. This could also help new players understand MeepCraft more. The wiki would be linked on the homepage somewhere. This ultimate knowledge base could even be a major part of / replace the in-game /help documentation.

yep, been spending a lot of time on it lately!

 

I like this idea! Although MeepCraft already has a wiki, I think it would just be much easier to access members to find if it was at the top of the website. It would give everyone a chance to learn something that they didn't already know about the server. It would also be easier for staff members to access and edit so it can stay updated and consistent.
Plus, if this is added I think it would also give the chance to slide in a few frequently asked questions so staff members do not need to repeat the same answer multiple times!

Maybe once it gets a lot more work done and looks like a real and thorough wiki, I'll convince the fuzzy man to put it up there.

The staff could then link to the wiki for modreqs and thus also direst players to the forums

 

I really like the idea, and am happy to see this is currently being implemented, however I personally think it should be done a bit differently (feel free to disagree). Now forgive me for bringing up another server, but it's pretty necessary here. Anyways, a server I used to play on called Civ-Wars (a mix between towny, factions, roleplay ((kinda)) , and war ((way better than towny war))) has a wiki dedicated to documenting history and towns. I think that would work awesome on Meep to showcase towns and nations. Currently, I see that Wikia Members can add pages, but there's no way to link it to "sub-forums" like for towns. If that could be done (I don't know if it can), that would be awesome!

 

As this is already happening, I'm moving this to denied
