    June 3rd, 2012.

That's the date I happened upon this server and found a community that (to me) was unparalleled in it's tight-knit playerbase, friendly administration, and perfect blend of town creation and resource gathering fun. I looked everywhere for a server that could meet the criteria of having a mature playerbase and administration, and a simple yet fun shops and town creation "tycoon" plug-in. It was here that I found it, and I delved into a very special find that would consume a good 2 years of my free time.

This was my first real PC online experience, and what came with that meant a lot to me. I learned the ins and outs of the plugins, I spent many hours talking to players new and old, and watched as my town grew into (what was back then) the largest city on the server. It was the most fun I had ever had in a video game, and that social human element was something that made it feel real, that I could share and interact with everyone to make a virtual world that we could call our own.

What we had was special, and anyone here can attest to that. The resolute quality of the community and the administration would inevitably lead to the community growing larger, and this period of rapid growth was awesome. We had all of these new people coming in and introducing themselves, and everyone was so quick to welcome them in and show them the ropes of the server. A process that I found so fun to be a part of, I became a moderator.

This, perhaps, was the most interesting part of this server, and why it was so memorable. The way that the internal "ebb and flow" of the community played a part in how the server would grow or lose players. It all played out like a long story. From its humble beginnings to its "Golden Age" to its turmoil during the CrueltyGaming era and then back to its (somewhat) previous state through the will and determination of the community.

Why am I writing this? Because every few days I watch that "Current Players" number drop, and I feel like that unique spark of determination is dying. Although I quit this game long ago, I don't want to see this veteran server fall. And if it is to die, I just want someone to know that this meant a lot to me, it was a long ride, and it would be sad to see this 4+ year project to be wiped clean.

I'm sorry for rambling, there's a lot more to be said about this server and it's community, but I don't feel like writing any more than I have to. Thank you for all the great times.

I remember the days of you being staff, you were someone I looked up to on the staff team.
It's sad to see that you've left along with many others, but it's still admirable that you still care about something that you no longer go on.

That being said, I'm sure many people would like to see this server return to its former glory.

I'm glad I read this, this is exactly how I feel about the server. I continue playing just for the community these days. Meepcraft is great, but its hard not to feel like it will inevitably fall. Its been a big part of my life for three and a half years and I really hope that it stays alive for a bit longer. Tony, my friend from when CG took over and we all went mining on Fluffbear's server, nice to see this.

You know back when I joined I remember that the staff team and the players were not always negative. When you would get on there would always be something for you to do or some new gossip about Rosenow or a top town making something. Over the years on this server I have made several plus towns and I have gotten banned several plus times too, but the reason I still am on these forums is because I remember those old days and I remember that I loved this server.

@Fuzzlr this is the truth. There is no bringing us back to our former glory at this point. We have crossed the line of no return. Imo we should imedeatly cut out unnesceray costs, like paying for only 500 players max, stopping ads that cost money, and not pay for things we get for free. I think Fuzzlr knows that this is happening, but wants to keep the people calm until he runs out of money dedicated to meep.

I'd also like to point this out.

    Ranks:

    They're freaking donations

    Donate to freaking meepcraft today

You don't usually get stuff when you donate

    Maybe a crappy pen

This is something you don't want to loose @Twomoo

Maybe spend your money on ranks so the server doesn't fall.

    Find a rank seller

This goes to everyone with a lot of money that needs another rank

    Burritohnoms.com

    He sells ranks still

    Buy freaking ranks

    Save meepcraft for gods sake

Another thing I'd like to add.

The administration needs to be more down to earth with their relations concerning the playerbase. With the playerbase as small as it is right now, this server is at the "Everyone Knows Everyone" stage. Making a dichotomy between the staff and the players is the last thing that needs to happen. Things need to be more casual and open, something that's been missing for quite a while. When you average ~50 players at all times, an open system works a whole lot better. People like transparency.

its not that its worth it, its a donation.
    A DONATION
you don't get things when you donate.
The server is just having incentives.
If you use meep you should donate JUST so the server doesn't die.

Awesome discussion. I've had my good and bad on this server and I too would hate for it to fall. It really has been a great part of my life to be a part of such an awesome community and to get so involved in such a wonderful server. It breaks my heart to see less people playing. It's one of the reasons I came back after being gone for a bit. the other obvious reason is its my favorite server

I know its donating and you donate to something you like but lets be honest, hardly any thinks of it as donating and more of buying.

People keep saying this but it literally makes no sense to me. We have an open trello where you can see everything we have planned. I talk to every single person that pms me on forums. (In game is hard because so many at a time). Ive never withheld any information regarding anything on this server. Ive hosted 2 streams where I had an (Ask me anything) setup. Answered every question.

I havnt banned many players unless it was to get them to understand the behavior was not tolerated, which I have a 99% unban rate after a simple talk on teamspeak. Honestly, I dont see how I can be more transparent or down to earth with the current community. I just dont have the slightest clue. Do we keep some surprises under wraps? Sure! we love having a few things to surprise you guys with. Other than that, We share literally everything.

Take for example, yesterday's huge update. Nobody knew anything of a new towns world/soft reset and questions were being asked left and right. Don't get me wrong, I think you guys just saved the server, but this came out of nowhere.

In that case, we need to let players IG know about the forums. You have to be pretty proactive to even know what goes on in the forums. Whenever I talk to newer players about it, they usually don't even know what forums is. It could be an ad run by staff members or one through the ads we already run. I know we already have an ad for forums, but it doesn't tell anyone what forums does.

I'm not trying to come off as angry, as I really like this update, but this is what people mean about the transparency. Literally no one outside of the staff team knew about something as big as this. Again, not even frustrated about it, but you have to see where I'm coming from.
