abbreviations

OK so I know there's a load of junk going along with the letters k, y, and s. If you guys ban and kick people for it then there's a simple phrase you can add in

the most recent decision is that some abbreviations that are not directly offensive (wtf, lmao, etc) are fine and you can say them.
Anything that can be offensive (stfu, kys, etc) is harassment.

If you're talking about adding kys and such to the filter, I don't see the point, people are going to evade it anyways and it'd just be all the more annoying.

 

What next, we ban people for saying there voice is high... oh wait.

Aka me. Where is it in the rules? I don't see it. Also what is the difference with stfu and omfg. I got banned for saying kys which means "kill yourself". Vulgar language is illegal and if omfg means that you know what it stands for so why aren't they banned? Makes no sense.

See. VULGAR WORDS are PROHIBITED. Do you see how unfair this is? I'm being banned for KYS which is an abbreviation and OMFG is an abbreviation and is bannable too.

telling a person to kill themselves is a thousand times more serious than oh my f'ing god.

 

I don't care about how severe it is. Any thing someone does wrong they should be punished for. If someone says OMFG and doesn't get banned, then I say kys and I get banned then someone else says omfg and doesn't get banned. Do you know how unlawful that is? I don't care how severe it is. I am fine with my punishment but I want anyone banned who says wtf or whatever or me unbanned. It doesn't matter how severe. They still break a rule with saying WTF. If you don't think they are breaking a rule by saying WTF or OMFG tell me why.

Are not things that belong on a family server. Would parents like it to see abbreviations for f*ck while their kid is playing a game? I think not. As we are family based these should be removed. Things like wth are more acceptable, but we must agree. The f word does not belong on meep in any form.

1st, meep isn't a "family" server, its a family friendly server, (forgive me for being a pedantic ass hat) 2nd, isn't wtf and fys and such basically like dang and fog? (fog might be pittsburghese I forget) It would be really outlandish and dumb to ban people for this, yet they come from swear words.

Also, there was never a formal announcement in the change in moderation, they just started banning people for these abbreviations, which IMO is Bull crap, they can do what they want with the rules but at least announce it before you start banning people for saying FU kys etc etc.

From what I understand half of these words aren't even banned, only the ones directed at a player. In addition things like wtf and kys have been ingrained in culture to some extent, If I type to someone to kys, I am not actually wishing death upon them, its just an insult, If I tell someone to kill themselves, Then by all means its innapropriate and stuff. If you call someone a bone head your not actually calling them a *redacted* head, its merely an insult thats lost original meaning.

 

i feel like maybe we could add another filter for these words like STFU .etc that is worded slightly differently than the "no swearing" filter (something like "please keep your language appropriate since this is a family friendly server"). this could at least provide a warning to those players who say stuff like that and, if people evade it, they can be kicked or banned after having CLEARLY violated a rule. thus this can be more fairly moderated by all moderation staff.
