New Big Thing

Meep used to have hundreds of players on at a time

When meep was realeased many players came because of towny and the way economy worked. But that was a few years ago. So we need a new big thing to attract new players we need a new big thing. Not something like factions we need something Unique i dont have anything on my mind so please reply with suggestions

Idk if adding more mini games would also help it but i guess you would need more people to play the mini games xD. i do agree with alexxxxxxx's comment but i'm guessing a lot of people would just leave cause they enjoy how it is right now cause they have a high balance or a huge town or nation.

 

Yes imo I think a reset would cause more people to leave (myself included) than would be gained in old players coming.

But lets not have this discussion now.

Back to the OP's point, we, as a community, should come up with some unique mini games that could attract new players (meep could also sell these mini games to other servers to bring in money and advertise on other servers).

I was thinking maybe mini games that involve using /gadgets (cough cough poop bomb cough cough).

 

I would probably end up leaving aswell xD. a game choice that may be good is hide and seek

 

maybe we could integrate gadgets to make it unique? something like you get bonus points for making yourself more visible (Disco pants/suicidal sheep)

Ok so Nick is right, but to be honest Skywars isn't a really big deal. We need more than just Skywars. Lots of players left meep, because Dungeon and HG were shut down. For example, /warp mobs was meant to be a big opening on January 8th. When you go to /warp mobs right now it still says the mobs are hiding. Of course EULA took away a giant percentage of meepers, and everyone makes a big deal about it. I mean I was pretty upset when it happened because I was just about to buy Ultimate, but now I'm sorta happy Meepcraft changed now I can get around without pretty much cheating and using /fix. All I think meep honestly needs is to put new things into the server. (maybe a little bit more faster too!)

 

Minigames are not the solution; as we've seen for the past two years or so.

Figuring out a way to add highly customized content into towny would leverage the server against other servers with towny, giving us a step up compared to them, and intrigue older players to come back and check it out.

A reset is most likely the literal worst idea there is.

 

I am an Old Meeper (joined the server January 2012) so i can judge what will bring them back

I think what would be GREAT is if the server went back to the very first spawn and terrarium. I would definitely come back to that if I left.

I don't care if you've been here since august 2013, that was not the apogee of our server. Either way that's irrelevant, what the REAL issue is would be the fact that Minecraft is simply losing popularity. Mature players are being replaced by squeakers, and this is occurring at an alarming rate. Meepnetworks only had one or two that I saw in the whole three months of its existence (and I played 6+ hours a day).

What I'm saying is that we need to give towny some kind of unique...feature. Two or three wouldn't hurt. There are much better minigame servers out there, there is no point in becoming a hub server. At this point, it's a case of embracing that towny/economy aspect and making it as unique as we possibly can.

 

Thats because most squeekers got banned for "smelling gay" by cruelty gaming.

 

Focus on keeping the current active player from leaving. That includes fixing the broken plug ins and Minigames and adding new content to the Minigames that contects them with towny. That would keep the current players to continue playing. After that add a new voting reward system in to give the players a reason to vote because the current rewards are garbage. That will raise the server on the leaderboards and bring in a few players which will then continue to vote which will get the leaderboards higher and higher. That will then increase donations which will increase advertising which will increase player count.
