I think it would be useful to know if/when someone is banned (besides /seen) to know how long that person has/will be not online (since 2 people in my town have been banned)
I heard it was a thing back then but it was removed for an unknown reason and I think it would be good to bring back

    EDIT:
Could use commands like /bantimer (name)
or in /g say "Kdocherty7 has been banned for 1 day for reason"

    Its private info.
You have no need for this info.
If you want to be a part of the ban process, become a staff member.

    • All bans would be public, so staff would think twice before going on a power trip. All players would see it, and could post a demotion request if the staff member is banning players unreasonably.
    • It makes people think twice about doing dumb things that could make them get banned.
    • It provides entertainment for people who can follow the rules.
    • Players should be in the know with what happens in the server that they're GIVING THEIR MONEY TO.
    • If somebody feels that their privacy is invaded by having their ban publicly broadcasted, then maybe they'll think twice about doing things that could get them banned.

    1. Lol -1
    2. How would that stop dumb people from being dumb? -1
    3. True. +1
    4. You're lucky that they even show a Red Cross through their name. Not a good point. -1
    5. True but still not a point that helps prove that this would be a good thing. -1

This has been suggested like 5 times in the past few months and has been denied every time see denied section.
This does not benifit the server and would only cause more drama/fighting/spamming.

u actually expect me to become staff

im admittedly nosy but they would never accept me

    ^^

This issue is kind of like naming and shaming but that isn't a bad thing. How come when someone does something wrong, they deserve "privacy"? They obviously did something bad, so they don't get to be protected from the full consequences of their dumb actions

    1. Staff are looked at. Staff see other staff members. This would stop no power trip. Because a power trip would be shut down within an hour.
    2. No they wont lol
    3. Thats not a good reason.
    4. why?
    5. No they wont lol

It's not your job to police the staff. You are a player, you either play, or not.

    It really doesn't.

You give money to your local gas station, but are not privvy to their employee policies, this isn't much different.

The reason for the removal was the "spam following the ban".

    You would get:

    LOL
    RIP
    GG
    HAHA

    in the chat afterwards.

Now, with the bans not visible, you get confusion, drama and everyone asking all around the forums/game about the banned person.

The reasoning that it's "private information" is BS. It obviously wasn't private info in the years prior to the removal.

    EDIT:

Up to you to decide what type of reaction you want.
    1. The immediate spam in the chat with visible bans
    or
    2. The drama about it when someone finds out with hidden bans

Then just a while back in a suggestion you said this:
Oh, how people change their minds so fast.

That doesn't change how relevant you are to the server's banning policies.

Players have no business involved/knowing in other player's bans, unless told by the players themselves. People just like being nosy and judging other people.

There is no need for customers to know publicly why someone is banned. If you want to know, get in touch with the player banned some how.
Do you go to your shopping center and ask why Michael the mischievous is banned? No because it is narnia.

wait til player is unbanned and ask. if player is banned longer than a week it's perm, and that narrows it down to basically hacking, exploiting or extreme toxicity.

    ? ? ?
    1. What if the player doesn't have those?
    2. What if you don't know the players username on those?
    3. What if you have hired someone to do a job and they're banned but you don't know if it's 30 minutes or perm?
    4. What if someone owes you money and they're banned but you don't know if it's 30 minutes or perm?
    5. What if you owe someone money and they're banned but you don't know if it's 30 minutes or perm?
    6. What if you need to talk to someone and they're banned but you don't know if it's 30 minutes or perm?
Sorry yes I'll just count down the days on my calendar hoping that my friend who I have no way to contact because I don't have their details and sadly I can't afford a private detective. Or I guess I'll just have to bug staff until they tell me instead of there being a way for me not to check what they did, I don't care tbh, but for there to be a way to see how long they're banned for.

I know this will be denied, as the staff will just think it is us trying to stick our noses where they don't belong, and ignore the points made by various players.

    However

What harm does this do? Seriously everyone figures out why someones banned eventually. You can't get banned doing nothing, someone has to catch you, and if they do they will eventually tell the community why vk-I mean some random person is banned. If I get permed, for lets say scamming ranks, I can either A. stay banned forever and wait until people figure it out or B. appeal and anyone who reads my appeal can see what I was banned for.? Is it because staff want to prevent shaming? because the only players who get shamed for getting banned are people with incredibly extensive historys, or people who draw attention to it, If I get banned, when i get on the most I will get are a few ironic humorous comments before it is forgotten (I might not be a good example because nobody cares about me) but Its not like people shout at other players in /g "Hey 3 weeks ago you got banned for 3 hours for scamming! ha your a loser!"
