Turkey Coup

Discuss the recent events in Turkey.

 

This might be one for the history books. Just waiting for the USA to get involved... if we haven't already by now.

 

In Turkey's Constitution, the military has the right, and duty to begin a coup if the leader begins swaying away from secularism into theocracy, and authoritarianism. This coup was quite underwhelming and quite unsupported within the military as well as the citizenry, and as of now is failed.

We'll see if there is any further major unrest in the next coming days. If not then this will likely turn Turkey into a much darker nation. The current Constitution is likely to be redone, undoing any teeth the military has. Theocratic and authoritarianism policies will be implemented with greater ease, as the President has an overwhelming mandate to put them in place. There will also likely be some purging within the military, government, and populace, the death toll will most likely increase significantly.

 

xD there (president?) who banned street protests is urging turkeys citizens to take to the streets in support of him...

 

Just one high powered shot could end this all. One sniper...

Anyways I have no idea who's who, so who's the bad guy and who's the good guys. Because it'd be bad if everyone is bad.
