Refunding Problems that are server-side

    Pretty basic suggestion, refund for problems that are server side. Simple stuff such as all villager despawning, etc

    +1, it can be very frustrating to lose the things you worked hard for, and then be met with "I'm sorry we do not refund for villagers"

    You basically saying that because staff only refund about 50-60% of what people lose in terms of money/items let's not actually do the right thing and refund all of what people lose due to the SERVER BEING BUGGED.

    That's stupid logic. Obviously we should refund items that are lost via the server. I've lost at least 50 villagers from the recent villager glitch and didn't get a single meeble to compensate the time and money I spent on those villagers.

    While I was staff, I handed out over 3 million meebles in refunds. I'd prefer the server deal with the refunding, because staff are players too, and need money to spend, keep/maintain towns, etc. Staff refunds are for clear lag or whatnot cases, but if you have 4 million meebles in villagers disappear, it's not cool to expect staff to hand the player 4m out of their pockets.

    These are some of the dumbest plus 1s and minus 1s ive legit witnessed ever on top of a poorly thought out suggestion thread.

    Heres how things work because apparently people don't know how things work on meepcraft.

    The server messed up. either by admin+ fault or natural server error or plugin failure etc etc. The reason why they tell you that they cannot refund for it is because it cannot be tracked. If they can't prove what is lost, people can just make up random numbers. I've witnessed this happen before. Its messed up, but its just that they cannot spawn in 5million meebles on a random player's word. Where is the common sense with you guys. Jesus.

    Staff don't just tell you they don't refund because they wanna take your crap. Its because they cant prove the things you are talking about ever existed. Do you know how embarrassing it is to be a helper or mod and having your boss tell you that you have to go around saying sorry for their screw up? It was one of the most frustrating things during my time as staff and incredibly embarrassing to see someones hard work disappear to have to tell them "oh well".

    Sure. I mean, while some rollbacks or whatever can't be tracked, it was widely known (even by high staff) that entities, in this case villagers, were wiped serverwide. While there's no proof that these *particular* villagers existed, an exception to the rules can be made in this particular instance since the blanket removal of villagers WAS in fact known.

    It's not really good business practice to go "oh sorry we can't prove it, your loss" to your customers when you caused an issue leading to the destruction of players' work.

    and exceptions have been made and ended up spawning a crap ton of meebles into the eco cuz people lied and i watched them lie. Its a terrible business practice, I'll give it to you. I wouldnt dare disagree with that. but unless people intend on doing something about it, it doesnt matter. They are going to do whatever they want and people are going to sit there and take it.
    On a side note, why were villagers wiped?

    Supposedly a glitch when someone failed at messing with towny, but I only heard that through the grapevine, so don't quote me on it.

    I don't know but I try to screenshot my /bal, town bank, and chests with valuable items. If you're afraid of another glitch taking your stuff, you should too.

    What you are referring to is bias among staff, should refunds be based on how cozy one is with staff?



    The staff should never place the security of the imaginary economy above the security of the actual community and it's work.
