Regarding Impersonation of a Staff Member

The only time I can think of it being an issue was when someone change their name to reggles1 or something very similar to that and message that staff were trying to relay to the real reggles went to him, so he was sent staff info by accident. He had intentionally change his name to match reggles as well because he was a decent member of the community who had been here some time before changing his name. Other than that has never been a problem in either of my tenures. Idk, I can see the inconvenience it could cause, but I'd think its more so one of those rules that are there just in case. Players hardly ever get punished for the rule and when they do do it, is cuz they are trolls and interfering with staff work. I've never seen someone do it out of respect for another staff.

As yes, the lack of compensation for hours upon hours of work is counterbalanced by protecting your names. #worth

maybe so, but prob cuz klutch has dedicated an immeasureable amount of time and even personal funds to the server while you are hardly more than a toxic little turd. thats prob why he can bend a rule or two

 

I find staff correct on the whole issue.

 

Whatever, I mean. If their ego is so fragile they need to remove a customer due to the vain love of their name, so be it. It's still absolutely dumber than hell.

I respect a good portion of staff, and I see and know the work that is done, but it doesn't negate how asinine the rule is.

If anything, I suggest people just namechange into an older name of staff

@KlutchDecals is this what you spend all night arguing about? If you think a game keeps me up at night I've obviously made the wrong impression.
This rule is a staff impersonation thread, not a player impersonation thread. If staff are not thick enough to understand that "Klutchawesome" is not harrassment then I don't know what to say.
Also, you could have said that you didn't know what to say about my comment instead of making a mockery out of it.
@Muunnkee - Alexia what you said about staff impersonation being confusing is obvious, and that is something I understand. However, Klutch has stated that is not the reason and as a result I need to know why the reputation of staff is more important than that of a player.
The reason why this is an issue is because, like most global rules, there is no exact line on what is impersonation and what is not. There will never be that line, and so there will be controversy at one point or another.

I agree with peri, but I also do agree with this in a lot of ways
1. Matt could have changed his name to literally anything, but no, it just needed klitch in it! Klitch didn't really want this, therefore he eas banned. If you aren't sure about a name don't do it!
2. I get that there's a lot of people that hate me, but dawn is my name for a personal reason. After being a jerk to lots of people I wanted to have a new "dawn" persay. Therefore if you use my name you not only offend me, but some messages meant for me go to some other person.
3. If anything that I do gets turned into something like this, I would feel humiliated for what I would done, what klitch did I believe was right. You could've just changed your name to Ihearawhistle or something.

My name determines me, despite everyone's opinions on me, that's who I am. And if you want to judge a staff on what they did. Staff comments is the way to go!

 

Again, Klutchisawesome may not be harrasment depending on cirsumstances, However when people send messages to KlutchDecals it will go to klutchisawesome.
Also, If you change your name to Klutchisawesome, and I dont want you to have a name like that about me, I have every right to say no. Harassment can be in flattering form as well.

This goes for players and staff. So again, Idk what the argument is.

Also to try to say that I said players are not as important as staff is false. Go back and read. I dont feel the need to defend false statements so this will be my last post on this thread.

@Dawn this is the internet. People are going to take your name and use it however they want. Not to mention, you're the one who keeps renaming yourself to 2dawn2, Peridawnyx, yadda yadda yadda. If you think names are special then don't do things like that. Nevertheless that was a very inspiring and deep writing.
What I am saying is if it is a form of harassment then use the reasoning for a ban as harassment, not impersonation.
I will comment more clearly when I am able to quote specific things in a thought out manner.

Actual last post, I didnt ban klutchdickles. I told them to change the name after 30 days, like ive done with every inapp name since I was a mod. ANyway!

 

Then put that as the rule to change the name.
Why did you have to make this more difficult than it had to be? You could have said that's what was being done from the beginning. I would have agreed with you on all aspects.
