More staff in British Timezones

97 players online, NO staff. Where are they at?
So, we need to hire more staff for the job so we do have 24/7 staff. So, there were people swearing, making drug references and there was no one there to say "please don't." With this amount of players it is truly ridiculous for there to be on staff monitoring the server.

Maybe they could set up something that lets them kniw when no one is online. Is this a common occurrence?

Yes I have already made 3 player reports.

 

It's not like they go out of their way to hire American staff.

People apply, they can't do anything about people not applying wtf

No, it is just an example of what has been going on when there has been no staff.

IT's actually going on quite well. It isn't just british time zones, it's 10:25 here in EST, so at least SOME of staff SHOULD be on.

 

Maybe you should encourage your Brit friends to apply.

It isn't really the staff team's fault. Some people resigned, some people got demoted, but no so many people in that area were added.

Not many people can flip their schedules right now. A lot of people have exams or finals or something right now, and they just have school in general. Our school is pretty much peak afernoon/evening hours for your timezone.
Once summer comes I think the problem will be way easier solved, but it also can't hurt to have a more flexibly scheduled person on the team. Then again it's not like they're gonna force people to apply.

 

The staff team has stuff to do IRL, too.

I mean I was up at 2-3 AM doing Australian modreqs when I was staff, but once school started obviously it wouldn't work out--I think this is a somewhat common theme within the staff team.

 

Yeah, im just saying there could be lots of other solutions than just hiring more British staff

 

I live in England and I applied once. http://meepcraft.com/threads/helper-application-from-cavespidersam.54829/ It didn't end well, probably because I didn't have Teamspeak. But the negativity from some people deterred me from applying again. Also, I still don't have TS.

 

I thought you said "Once Summrs comes back the problem will be easier to solve" and I got happy because I thought he was coming back

What about when you do /modreq without staff online, have it say something like 'sorry, there are no staff members on at this time, use meepcraft.com/forums/reportaplayer (or whatever) to report a player!'

 

lol I'm on all the time just not from 5 am est - noon est I get on around 1ish so even if I applied couldn't help at 10 am est

Well I mean there's only so much control we have over this issue... We accept people that are going to make good staff members, their timezone won't come into play if they aren't a good candidate.
