New shirt ideas

You absolutely can do quite a bit. That looks like spot color process, which is using 4-6 normal colors to mix as they print.

However, the obstacle is if MeepCraft went to order 20 of those - You'd all be buying $35 shirts.

 

The problem with these is that the image looks like a cling on. Its garbo

 

This is one of my personal T-shirts I've worn it countless times and it's maybe 2 years old now? The quality is great.

I realise I sound like an ad for them sorry about that. I just think you'd be better off doing it here.

The cost of the t-shirt isn't dependant on how many are ordered. Some of my art has only been ordered 6-7 times it still costs the same as some that's been ordered 100+

They've planned this current batch around a small order size, thus costing $17. If people are happy enough to pay that, and somehow they end up selling more than that, say 100. I would believe they have the ability to drive down costs, and make some profit on the venture, which is better for the server.

Correct, because the site maintains a $20 price point, which is retail. Costs to suppliers in normal cases runs $5 - $7 a shirt for average orders. There are some nominal fees added onto this, such as generally a $40 an hour art charge. $X - $25 screen charge (each place varies).

 

Great, I try to legitimately give my constructive opinion on something and this is how you respond. What exactly about my post was condescending or rude/mean in any way?

 

My point is it costs Meep money to buy these shirts in advance correct? If they don't sell the batch then they'll be charged?

I do not believe so. No charges are made on their end until a certain # of orders are placed.

Btw - That shirt does look nice. Want to know how to tell if you got a decent shirt that'll keep it's print? If it's a thicker print, gently pull it apart. If the ink begins to crack, that means it's not cured. You can stick it in an oven to cure it. (Generally 320 degrees - 340 degrees) If it's a thinner print, or on white garments, rub a cloth over the image, if the ink rubs off - It's not cured.

 

But meep gets charged at some point?

I would imagine yes. But the benefit is; if they are planning on an order size of 25 @ $X, but get orders of $100. They might end up paying $X-$Z. And keeping $Z as profit, thus benefiting the server.

 

On the site there's no fee and you decide the profit you get.

 

The way it works is like this.
We post the design we would like. It says "10 color limit"
Once we post the design we can move it around, add font, ect.
We then set a price depending on how much profit we want. We set it to Cost, $0 profit.
Shirts cost about $15-18 depending on if we add the font.
You need a minimum of shirts "depending on price" to print. (example the last shirts we put up. We needed 4 to print the order".
They take the orders, Print, and ship. We never pay them or receive money.
If not enough orders are made to cover the cost of production, everyone who ordered gets refunded and it doesn't print.

 

I like the shipping costs but they look good I'll just take a picture of me photoshop on the meep shirt or hoodie and set it as my desktop background so I feel better about living in Australia

I love the hoodie! The only thing is the logo is huuuuge. Would't it be cheaper and more approachable if it were smaller/off to the side? Idk. I actually like it though, a nice addition.
