Let's see: If she is charged with murder, she is a murderer. If she isn't, then she isn't. Good enough for me, idc.

Caitlyn Jenner really is beautiful and very brave, but I believe that some people still aren't used to the fact that she was born a man. But all negativity aside, I think that she is very beautiful and should be honored for her bravery.

Do you guys know why people often stick their heels in, get defensive, and stand behind blatantly illogical beliefs?

It's because people like yourselves don't give them an opportunity to change their mind, without being relentlessly attacked and ridiculed. It's disgusting, frankly. You're just making it all the more difficult for someone to; (1) Change their position, (2) Even be willing to talk about this in the first place, so that they can have their mind changed, or even (3) Add something new to discussion that you havn't considered yet.

Question to everyone here. How the hell do you expect people to become more tolerant and accepting of LGBT's, if, every time they try and speak their mind on the subject, they are bombarded with mockery and name-calling? Seriously now. Do you guys really think people are going to change their minds when they're being treated like this? Or do y'all just not care?

    Not cool, @kwagscraft et al. (@Versus , @XxNine_TailsxX , @Skaros123 , @Muunkee - Alexia , @Supreme_Overlord , @Lilstokes , @Zer0000000000 )

(This is a complaint of a problem I'm seeing too often on here. This thread just happens to be the straw that broke the camel's back for me.)

I copied a joke I saw on imgur.
I don't honestly believe that lol.
If you want my honest opinion about trans people, I really don't give a damn about it. I hold the same argument as anything similar to this - Leave me alone, don't shove it in my face, and I don't care.

About Mrs. Jenner here, She is not a terrible person because she is trans, but she is just flat out a terrible person because of what she's done in the past.

Yet, that's the same reasoning we heard when politicians proposed and enacted the disgusting (and failed) "Don't ask, don't tell" laws. People should be free to be themselves without tip-toeing around their likes/dislikes, for fear of someone else getting offended.

What about personal liberty? Freedom for all? What if people had said similar things about Women's rights?

"I just don't care. You can have your rights, just don't go shoving it in my face. Wearing jeans, talking about being the 'breadwinner', etc etc."

Jenner's should absolutely be held accountable for her pre-transexual transgressions.

I don't generally keep up with politics. Call me uneducated or whatever you want but it hasn't been something I've done yet. Probably should.

People should be allowed to be people. People should be able to work, wear, say, do, whatever the hell they want as long as they can do it without causing problems. Being offensive simply by existing is not causing a problem.

I don't know about culture in russia.
It's clear that they aren't accepting of people, and honestly that's upsetting.
It's okay to hate people but why can't you just keep it to yourself. Especially that one guy that hit into one of the two and asked what their problem was... That's something 13 year olds do in school to bully. Really? Really??

My point was, some of these guys would no doubt say:

The gays should "Leave me alone, don't shove it in my face, and I don't care." - Alexia

That these gays deserved it. They were clearly "shoving it in my face".

To be clear, I'm not comparing you to these thugs. I'm comparing rationale.

Unfortunately despite Caitlyn's wants he is a male. Getting rid of your sex organ doesn't make you the opposite sex. He is biologically a male.

I'm all for what makes people happy as long as it doesn't infringe on others rights so sure go ahead, act like a woman, look like a woman, say you are a woman etc... but it doesn't make him a woman.

    Then what does?

I'm no expert, and technically it's all down to brain chemistry, right?

If you found out that you had your ****** removed, and had a ***** attached to you when you were 2 years old? My guess is that you'd still want people to call you a 'guy'.

Honestly, I usually call people by 'whatever they self-identify as'. Just for ease. It's no effort to call Caitlyn a woman, and she has all the 'gear' to go with. I don't see it as an issue.

It's not purely cultural. There are differences in our brain chemistry.

I mean... If we're gonna get down with the super technicalities, nothing can make me a man, or you a woman, completely. No matter what you do, Medically, I can't fully be a man.
Using an example, even if you take off your privates and replace it with something else, you, as a currently, biologically, birth-male, You do indeed have a chance to get something only men can can, such as say prostate cancer.
I will never be able to get that no matter how much I add between my legs.
Self identification does not matter in that field.

Ummmm... oompf. Cultural, in the sense that, they differ between cultures? Of course. But not that they are usually 'just cultural'.

Recently, I've come across Gad Saad. Evolutionary Psychologist and author of "The Evolutionary Basis for Consumption'.

Basically, he gives Evolutionary hypotheses for the desires that we have, and how society 'acts'. He's got his own YouTube channel. It's awesome.

    So, quick example.

Are the gender roles of "Female caregiver, Male breadwinner", just cultural? It doesn't seem so. They have an evolutionary basis in our psychology. It's quite sensible. TL;DR - Women, for the most part, have better 'brains' to raise children. They are genetically predisposed to be better caregivers than men.

Does that mean men can't be better caregivers? Or that we should prevent men from getting jobs in caregiving professions? Of course not. Freedom for all, and we should absolutely build our society on a meritocracy.

But an evolutionary explanation allows us to better tune our societies to get the most out of them. To see the difference as 'natural', rather than sexist towards men.

I understand that, biologically, Caitlyn could still be classified as male. Cool. But for ease, I'm going to refer to her as a 'she'. It takes zero effort for me to do so. And until we have the sufficient technology to determine whether she has a male/female brain, I'm just going to try and make their lives easy by referring to her as a female.

I understand that you'd still biologically be a male, if they "swapped genders" for you, as a child. But if you wanted to be referred to as a woman, because you have (almost) all the physical bits there that makes you look like one? That's cool with me. I'll call you a 'she'.
