Town Ideas

So I have come up with a few town ideas, here they are

1. Chest Shops - Let's make it so you can route the payment of a chest shop to a town! Let's just make it so you have to type the name as "Towns(a/b)-(Town Name)" This would be cool so you don't have to deposit the money made form your shop to the town every time.

2. Plot History - Ok, so many towns have a "Get your items back" rule. With this command you can type /plot history and see who has owned the plot in total, so like If i claim a plot, then another person does, then another, It will show in order who all has claimed the plot.

3. Height factor - Let's add a height factor to plots! You can run a command like /plot set height (#) (Y Level) and it make basically a whole new plot, but still be counted as one. The (#) thing means the level, like 1, or 2, or 3. So if I did level 1 at height 30, the plot would be split at 30 and below, and 31 and higher, and the plot would have different perms per level. But then if I did the second level at 60, the plot would be 30 and below, 31-60, and 61 and higher, so we're basically making levels. You would also be able to sell each level and the clam would only be that level. So if I bought level 1, I couldn't access level 2 or 3, only 1.

4. Re-enable villager breeding. Please re-enable this, it would greatly increase the traffic in villager trading and give more and more people access to these things. Instead of buying 20 spawn eggs, just buy 2, and start breeding!

5. Banning. Make it so we can ban people from our town. Some people just don't need to be in our towns.

I think making a hotel using the /plot set height # would be really cool.

chest shop would be good but how would we fit town name on sign?

 

Townsa-Mayberry fits, and maybe it would just work like if your ign is too long

 

I think if you're in the town you could do [Town] or something for the first line.

 

I really like #1 and #2, straightforward, quality of life updates.

#3 - well... Not sure how doable this is. The Towny plugin is based on minecraft chunks, which you know go from y 0 to 256. It should be theoretically possible to use the height division of chunks in order to split them... Sounds like a hell lot of work though. I don't even like the concept of it honestly.

4# - can't say much about this, I'd have to know why they are disabled in the first place, because there surely was a good reason.

#5 - why is this needed?

 

Ask @batdanman16. Let's just say someone is coming into your town and stealing your members, and you don't want to close your town to the public, you can just ban them from the town.

 

These are the parts that are denied.

1. To much work would have to be done to implement something like this. You would have to re-write how chest shop works and how to connect it to towny. Also you would have to make it so that people can't make chest shops to another persons town.

2. This is unnecessary, you can just make a /modreq and get a staff member to /modreq it.

3. Just the amount of code that would have to be done to do something like this is insane. Also messing with towny at that scale would most likely require a reset of towns.

5. This part is accepted with a tweak, we want to make it like in creative so that if you have been banned from a town you can't enter the towns plots. It means that if you get a tp request to the town you will not be able to accept the tpa.
