    Q#2.
If you drop an item(ex a god sword like wht happened to me today) to give to ur friend and some other dude runsup, grabs it and runs tps away, wht should u do? A modreq wouldn't make sense since there is no way to prove it. Deal with it?

If that happens, a modreq would actually be the appropriate thing to do because mods can see what items a player picked up with prism. So, essentially you do have proof, you just need a mod (or even helper?) to check the logs of what the thief picked up.

A modreq would not make sense, but not in the way that you're thinking. Staff can and probably would check to see who picked up the item, but they cannot do anything about it. The person did not steam the item, it was dropped and he picked it up.

I advise moving to a private location before making deals like that.

Wat? This is the equivalent of snatching someone's shopping bags at the register and running off. It's most definitely theft, and a /modreq would be appropriate.

I second the recommendation of doing this sort of thing in an isolated location to avoid a future repeat.

I didn't make the rule or th policy. That's how meeps been for a good long time, since I joined.

Once you drop it, you no longer own it, anyone can take it, is what that means.

I beg to differ. I believe he did steal since the item was not intended for him to take.

again. I don't make the policy, I simply stated it. Make a suggestion if you want it changed.

You don't find exact rules and policies unless you are in staff chat or someone tells you. I just told you it.

If you look under rules, theft includes taking and keeping items out of any container without the permission of the owner.

This isn't taking an item out of any container, is not included in the rules, therefore legal and has been legal ever since I joined. I was staff twice and had to enforce this a few times.

Staff don't do anything because they aren't going to take an innocent's items.

Yeah, but tossing things for another to pick up is the equivalent of handing them something in Minecraft. Only other way to do a person-to-person exchange is to have shared access to a chest in Towny. And that still doesn't solve the problem, because if you just do /plot set perm switch on, then the thief can open the chest and intercept it tthat way. If you do it with /res friend add, now the person you're dealing with can steal other things, and/or grief.

The only sensible thing, therefore, is to treat this like stealing.

If that's official policy, it's terrible policy, but it wouldn't be the first such policy I've encountered.
