I know, it sounds crazy, but I played on one server that did this and it honestly made sense.

Now about the rank:
Would be lower than VIP
Would have two /sethomes
No tax on vshop?

How to obtain:
Have x amount of people who have joined say that they were recommended by you. (One recommendation by person, could be done on forums to also encourage people joining the forums and make it easier to keep track of)
Pay y amount of meebles.

How this benefits the server:
Encourages people to bring more people onto the server, which in turn leads to more publicity.

 

Maybe 2 sethomes and 1 row of 1 /chest. it's a mini-vip.
Don't remove tax on vshop, not even ults have that perk.
+1 though. It's a nice idea.

 

I meant for the buy, its removed with VIP, but the chest idea is a cool idea as well.

 

I personally dislike this idea.

This my personal standpoint- we currently have six donor ranks, and are struggling to give perks to each rank that makes them what they're worth. Even though they're great ranks, there are still some ranks that could make do with more perks. The problem with adding another rank, means adding more perks to make this rank more worthwhile. It's better to make sure all the other ranks get their perks before considering more ranks. However the idea is cool, and this issue could be worked around most likely.

 

+1 I love the idea. Honestly I think it'd bring the community closer to the newer people because then newer players would want to actually be friendly to donators and become friends. Or say one donator knows a nonrank then they'd try to get their other donator friends to talk to this person then recommend the player. Good suggestion!

 

I want to add to this on ways it can be obtained. Not just adding people to the server since it can be abused. "cough" alts "cough"

But, how about if a citizen has proved that they have been behaved for a while and can get the recommendation of enough staff members who have never had to have trouble or problems with them. They get that rank as well. Something to award good behavior.

 

I agree, there could be other ways but there are ways to stop the use of alts. There could be things put in like where you have to have more than 5 people recommend you. Most people have one or two, and also to prevent hacked accounts from being accepted.

I've seen a lot of servers do this as well. It would definently distinguish the new players from the older ones. However, most of the servers that have this implemented force you to reach this rank in order to play the game properly (ie. no sethome or tpa). I trust that this would not happen, but let us be aware.

 

It actually would be the opposite, it would give perks like an extra /sethome, it wouldn't limit the players. Citizen would still be a playable rank.

 

I know that taking away perms that citizens already have isn't want you want. I don't want that either. I'm explaining that's how it works on everything I've seen.

maybe make it mainly cosmetic such as a recognition of commitment but not too much that vip loses it's already low donation incentive
