Bow and arrow will not fire

Hi all,

I'm not sure about this but I cannot use my bow anymore. When I go to pull back on the bow, like you normally would, nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this? Or has it happened to anyone else?

I've gone into my options and everything looks like it's linked to what it's supposed to but no matter what I try, I can't get the bow to work.

I've even changed my mouse because at first I thought it was my mouse was worn out but that's not it either.

Any ideas?

Do you have arrows?

 

I hate to be the person that acts like you're dumb, but do you have an arrow on you?
Also, can you still place blocks, or do other things requiring that button?

 

No, that's not a dumb question about the arrows, but yes, I have a stack of 64. I have restarted the game a few times but didn't make a difference. I restarted my computer too...maybe it's a glitch. Would you think I should reinstall the game?

 

That's kind of weird.
Does it work on other multiplayer servers, or your singleplayer worlds?
If it doesn't work on those I'd definetly suggest you un and reinstall your minecraft. Be sure to back up save folders or screeenies or anything you wanna keep.

If I may ask a few more questions before I proceed with my train of thought.

Where are you when the problem occurs?

What is your ping to the server? Do you know how to go to Command Prompt and get a ping readout?

Do you currently have any mods on your client?

And lastly, did you happen to feed a little fluffy creature after midnight and let it go play in the rain? Because I think you may have a case of gremlins tampering with your gear.

 

Are you still having this issue, @Whisperator ? If so, a mod/plugin that you have installed may be effecting this. It's also possible that you have your right-click tied to a different key. To change that, go to your in-game menu -> options -> controls and change it.

 

Reinstall the game, but do a complete 100% reinstall, as in go into your minecraft folders for both the old launcher and the new java free one and delete "everything" Start clean. Something has gone wrong. easiest way is to torch it and start over.

 

It may be something in your video settings or your texture pack. Try hitting someone with a bow and see if it does damage.

 

Is this still an issue?
