/craft > /recipe

I saw a suggestion where using /craft <Itemname> <amount> , you can automatically craft items if you have the necessary materials.

I was thinking, why not use /recipe instead?

Here's my suggestion:

1) Whenever you use /recipe, it takes the materials from your inventory (if you have it) and puts it where its supposed to go to craft a certain item. That way, the player knows what material is missing in order to craft a certain item because it would show 0 next to the material.

This, I think, would be much easier than having to do /recipe redstonecomparator then /craft redstonecomparator 64. Also easier to see which material is missing when there's a 0 next to it, compared to typing /craft redstonecomparator 64.... having an error message in chat saying "Cannot craft redstonecomparator.. missing stone".

2) The player can just click on the item or shift click to craft it into inventory.

Obviously this feature should probably be for the higher ranks so I wouldn't know what to suggest to separate the players who can use /recipe and actually craft, and those who can only use /recipe to view.

Anywho, just a suggestion!

 

This is almost as op as insta /craft of an item. I said it in the last thread, I'll say it here. It is not hard at all to make money if crafting is automatic. Look at some stuff the average noob might not be able to make such as Pistons or leads, people craft those and sell em.

Not to mention I could instantly abise my sugarcane farm and make lots of money via /warp shop.

I see where you're coming from and thank you @smkorpi9900 for your thoughts, here's what I think.

I don't understand what you mean by that.. obviously auto-craft /recipe would not be for everyone only the higher ranks. "Average noobs" as you say would not have this feature.

As for:

If there are items you can abuse /recipe to sell at /warp shop, I don't think it is a very big issue because you can always lower the price at /warp shop or even remove the "sell"... like they've always done to prevent abuse.

Denied. This was a neat idea but it would after discussing it with other staff members we've come to the conclusion that it would be too OP
