Vouchers

As you may already know, the player with the most votes each month, gets a free rank upgrade. I believe, that if everyone had the chance to get a donation voucher (discount) for a specific amount of votes every month, it would be really fair and would bring even more votes and simultaneously even more players to the server, as people would be far less pessimistic about whether their monthly votes are enough. Maybe we could get a 10$ voucher each month for 80 votes and those could stack up, while the player with the most votes would get a free upgrade. I really think that if this feature is applied, as it doesn't seem too overpowered, as 6000 Meebles a day are not a huge amount and an extra voucher reward would make everyone happier. Finally, as people could get the chance to become VIP, getting a taste of donation perks could as well promt them to buy an even higher rank. well I think if you are rankless and you vote 1000 times you should get a free vip rank and if you have a rank you can get a big reword like 1mil and if you get 6000 meebles a day that's is 2190000meebles a year witch is a lot just from voting.

 

Actually, you get a million if you are Ultimate. So this, in addition to voting 1000 times shows true dedication to the server and someone to achieve that deserves this much. But it sounds quite implausible to me that anyone could vote 3 times a day in a year, so a 10$ voucher wouldn't be such overpowered.

 

The current system works fine. Why fix something that's not broken?

 

Because it IS broken. The total votes of a player don't get added up correctly, I voted 9 times but still only says 3

I voted 3 times on each website so 9 times total. Btw after I voted 1 time each it said 3 and after I voted 3 times each it still said 3. (and top vote monthly is only 4 which is strangely low too)

 

It'd say 3 times, on each website, because each website is different. Each website only says you voted 3 times, because that's all you did.

this, this is weird. But it's also not our problem, but the website's. Sadly.

 

its 324 day you have to vote every day and that will be 1002 vote so in just under a year you can get a $10 rank just by going on some website every day and putting in you name and solving a robot thing, that's quite good.

 

The actual problem, is many times, it's irritating when we vote and receive nothing. Plus, there are people who might vote from different IPs (if I am correct, you can vote twice if from different addresses). Also, giving the chance to many people to get a small voucher for supporting the server is not unfair. I am not just saying because I want to benefit my self, I think this idea would bring tons of players and, therefore, donators. Not everyone votes everyday, but this could give them motives. In addition to the fact that even if you meet the 0.1 chances of getting a fly voucher it only lasts for an hour, so these rewards seem quite silly and don't motivate people to vote daily.

I never called the voting system "broken". If you read more carefully, you'd understand that my point is (as I say above) that vouchers would motivate people to vote and give the chances to more than just one person to get a nice reward when they are worth it. So if I were to characterize the system, I would rather describe it as "discouraging". Even though (also stated above) it doesn't give us anything sometimes and there isn't even a list with the top voters to let us know where we are

I'm pretty sure you can't vote with the same IGN even if it's on the same site. I'll test it later with a proxy.

That's the point - it's not broken. Why fix it?

You do get rewards for voting. You get 6K per day with a chance of donator notes and /dis notes(which in turn can be used, kept, or sold).
The server can't just give away free money too often. If they did, they wouldn't have enough to actually support the server.

 

Agreed, it's like YouTube, YouTube always tries to fix YouTube even though it's working completely fine.

 

I fully disagree with this kind of statement. This is not a fix, it is something that might improve the current system. If we stated this to all the suggestions we wouldn't have gotten very far on meepcraft. Suggestions are not only for fixing stuff or adding new stuff. It is also for improving what we have. To make it better, because in my opinion nothing can be perfect. I am not saying that some improvements can't make something worse, but if that happens all we have to do is go back to the old system.

But back to the suggestion. I see some good things about this and I see some bad things.

I have a concern that with the numbers you have stated here there would be people taking advantage of this with multiple accounts that they would vote for with a vpn and then sell the accounts on meepcraft. That would take a huge amount of money away from the server and that could end the server all together.
