Vanilla Factions.

You know the ya da ya da about factions, so I'll go into it.

To begin, I'd like to say how this can help the server. Factions is a well-known minigame, and many players enjoy it. Since many people enjoy it, many servers have it, and then (que Deinen) "how can ours be different or more fun?". Well, the idea is that it will be simple. We won't have these huge hard to understand plugins and such. There will be no MCMMO, no *massive* shop (will explain later), and no custom enchants. This will be vanilla minecraft, meaning prot IV is the highest protection, strength 2 is allowed, (God apples are a no), golden apples are allowed, and classic raiding. Because there is no advanced plugins, such as MCMMO. There should be a bit less lag. The basis of the factions plugin will be used (mainly the f claim f map info regarding factions, etc). Small economy that only works in the shop. And spawner mining, that is a huge part of factions.

I'll proceed to list the few stuff the server will have that isn't straight from a single player- style gameplay. Warps, starter kit (once per day), and an arena.

Warps: /warp fshop - This will be the only shop on the server, and very limited items. The items will be obsidian, tnt, red stone, and brewing supplies. Pvp will be off in this area, and will be boxed in from the outside world. This will also be an area for trade, .but scamming would be allowed.

/warp Arena - a 1v1 arena, this will come along with a command just being /duel (player name). This will be a "bring your own armor" sort of arena, and keep inventory will not be on. If possible, three arenas be made for more fights. There will be a waiting list for the arenas and timers so they fights can't go forever, or afk. The waiting list has a 5 group limit, and fights can last 10 minutes at most. The arena will just be mainly flat, but a small hill (like a plains biome hill). Basically a flat arena with nothing in it. After the fight, the person has 1 minute to /leave out, or get automatically removed a minute later. Pvp will be on, gapples of course banned, golden apple allowed, etc.

The last bit to this world is the factions plugin. If you don't know, this is so the commands such as /f claim /f create, etc

To conclude, I think a simple factions will add some to the play count, and attract more members. If nothing else, having the "Factions" tag under our minigame list will at least attract some members.

Tbh I don't see why factions are such a big deal but hey
I will say I've only played factions like once for an hour.

+1, simply because we really do need to attract more players. The current rules are being remade and the toxicity rule will stay there, so that eliminates one problem.

I've no idea how to play factions and hardly how it works so I won't go into that.

Do we really have to be unique, or can we settle for being the best? We have a good community for it, I think it's better to try it, and remove it if it's a failure, see what happens.

 

No, there should be one arena and there shouldn't be a /duel command, it should just be a normal arena where players jump in and fight. Makes it funner and gives it more of a challenge.

It would be sorta difficult to make it stay with the theme of Meep, and I just don't really like factions that much. Main reason is because whoever starts out gets more and more stuff. And raiding is pretty boring.

The survival game-mode that is being worked on contains very close elements of playstyle, except claiming land. But I think it encapsulates the basic premise, survive in the land, you and your friends searching the map for bases to raid, if you wish, however, if you don't want to do that - The game-style does not "force" it on you.


-1, due to my own personal experience with MeepCraft and factions, which closely matches the stories of the original MeepFactions. Overall low playercount, and attracts some major buttholes.

 

If Meep were to have factions I think it'd be best to have it on a whole other server completely. Like a different IP. Because I agree with what Deinen had to say "and attracts some major buttholes." -Famous words by Deinen
