There should be a new feature in towns where if you go over the maximum amount of plots, the town automatically declaims the land. I'm tired of running into towns that are gigantic, and only as around 3 people in it(all of which who've been inactive for months), and a bunch of money in the bank to keep the town from collapsing.

No because say I have a bad week in my town and lose 10 people and I was at the plot limit. It just unclaims a bunch of plots and I have to gain people and reclaim them at thousands of meebles.
How would it decide what plots to unclaim would it tell you what plots it unclaimed how is this beneficial to the actual server?

-1. If you don't like huge sprawling towns, don't look at them. Also, I have a town with 0 residents in Beta. I am preparing it to handle residents in the future. I can't do that if the plots keep unclaiming :p

As far as I can tell, the only arguments on this so far of why it shouldn't be done is because "I own a town and I don't want to give up my plots." There are numerous towns in alpha and beta that are below the limit. Also, @9grau_lila9, I don't like them because they're taking up a large amount of space where another person's town could be, and the owners of the town have left meepcraft. I'm fine with large towns, I don't like it when they're gigantic and pretty much just taking up space. Also, I've owned around 5 towns in my past meepcraft experience (sold them all off or they fell because I left meepcraft), @buildmaster1000x, and only once did I lose 10 residents that left on their own free will. Either A) You did something that was deserving losing 10 residents, B) they were kicked from the town from not paying their taxes, which in the end is still your fault for not having a low enough tax, or C) They left because the town was boring (which I doubt, your towns are fun) which again is your fault. To answer your question about how the towny system determines which plots it should get rid of, it'll be the reverse order of the plots your town has claimed.

I see a ton of probles with this, like if it's automatically unclaimed, what if someone owns a plot, and that plot is unclaimed, making them loose everything they own. That might make the server loose a meeper, or increase workload on staff. You might say that there must be some plots that dosen't have an owner, but 1 resident leaves and 8 plots will be lost (if they are at it's cap), and if the player leaving only owned 1 or 2, that's 6-7 plots that potentially can be another resident's plot, worst case scenario is 7 other people loose their houses, and they all leave both the server, making said town loose another 56 plots, and if those players would have become donors if they had been playing for a little longer, the server might have lost over a thousand dollars...

I lose people to taxes all the time. My residential taxes are set at 250 which is easily manageable even if you play once a week. I have done all the calculations. They can't keep up because many of them quit so they never come back. I have many free, helpful, and useful things in my town for residents. It's just not attracting people because of IRL issues so I keep losing residents and I can't do anything about it. That happens a lot because real life comes before minecraft and losing people happens.
