Necroing.

Seriously, this should be forum bankable. It's very freaking annoying as there is 2+ threads necro'ed from over a year ago.

 

It's just dumb, if there was a way to lock threads after a certain amount of time without activity maybe that would work.

 

Who cares?

 

It brings back non relevant threads that are not useful to have up anymore. Its annoying when you go to post on a thread thats around 1 year old and is not relevant.

 

It is especially when one guy Tulipnow decides to bump five or more threads at once.

 

If a thread can still be relevant, why does post date matter? The only reasoning I can possibly see for this is when people necro threads for the sake of necroing (such as posting something like 'necro necro' on 5-6 threads), in which case I would consider that spam.

 

Because it annoys everyone, lots of info on the threads are no longer valid/true, and some threads are just useless and don't need to be brought up again.
+1 for a rule, or automatic thread locks after a month. If you want to resurrect it, make a new one.

 

Honestly, I think one month would be too soon for certain types of threads. I would say possibly after 5-6 months.

I don't like seeing threads, being surprised by what I see, then realizing its a necro from 6-7 months ago.

 

Ban appeals would get locked @Monkey-Alex

 

Ban appeals shouldn't need to wait longer than a month anyways.
Staff can unlock threads as needed, they can also post when a thread is locked.

This could all be solved if the original poster of the thread had the ability to lock an old/irrelevant thread.

 

Most of the time they wouldn't do that.

 

But it could at least reduce necroing.

 

Not just **irrelevant, one with the word "Tasmiki" in it which could have tricked ppl into thinking he came back.
