Charity Lottery

Every month, Meepcraft would hold a mega lottery to win 2,500,000. People would purchase tickets for 25 cents each, and at the end of the month, the ticket would be drawn and the money would go to the winner. We could then donate the proceeds we got into a charity. Would this seem like a good idea?

+1 except for the fact that if its every month then ppl will think that "well i will donate next month", so more like once every 6 months so ppl would feel the need to donate.

 

+1 more than 2.5mil is removed from the eco every month and would be great to give back

 

Honestly, I don't think the lottery would be used to go to charity. We can use it. I don't mean for this to come off as greedy, but we would probably use it for the server.

I like the lottery part though, so +.5
Idk If you've noticed, but we aren't meeting the monthly donation goals, this would help out with that.

 

Plus, with that money, we could make better games and things for meepcraft, which will get more players to donate, which means we will make more money, which we will make better things for meepcraft, And so on...

 

I like the general idea, but does anybody else see any possible legal issues with this?

 

Legal issues? Well, I intended this to be nonprofit, If meep shows the donation given to the charity it should be fine.

Nobody sees what I said above? Personally, this is what I think the money would go to. Not charity.

 

We're already violating the eula to fund fuzzlrs college. Why would we get in any more trouble for giving some money to charity?

we need donations ourselves to keep the server running. Giving the money to a charity isnt really in our budget atm. Great and thoughtful idea though. =]
