Towny chunk regeneration

It would be awesome to see this get back to action. Both worlds have abandoned towns in some places that are very good to establish a town but some of us can't be bothered demolishing those towns. I know that this was removed due to people exploiting the ores that comes back when the chunks regenerate (I was one of them lol). However, I think this can be prevented if the plugin will be able to turn off mineral regeneration.
E.g:
Diamond:Off
Gold:Off etc...
This will make both worlds look nicer and will reduce the job for people wanting to make a town in those places. (sorry raiders) Let me know what you guys think!

 

Maybe we could just Mix up the ores there like 1/5 chance of a plot containing a diamond etc. This would still sort of prevent raiders

There was so, so, so much abuse with this. Even when things were turned off, towny is so whacky that they flip back on and then you suddenly have like 50 people duping overnight.

Maybe there are conflicting plugins with this causing them to turn on? If possible, staff should take a look at this and see if it can be implemented again without causing any trouble. As far as I know, the new meepshop seems to work perfectly at the moment so I think you guys can make towny regeneration work again.

It's not that hard, if you really can't be bothered hire a plot clearer.
Plus, no more raiding would make some people very very sad.

 

Laziness isn't the actual issue here. Do you really think that new players will be attracted to the worlds when all they see are abandoned towns? Do you think that most people have the time to demolish those towns especially the big ones? Some of us prefer working from scratch and the landscape looking more natural.

Yes....The majority of people who play are in their teens, they got all the time in the world.
Then find a normal spot. Make it more normal. Build it up. It may be harder but it can be done.

And my raider's point. Lots of people enjoy raiding, lots of people enjoy claiming old towns and restoring them. Why take that away?

 

Two worlds with plenty of spaces... Most of it aren't fit to establish a town. What you're implying here is that people make towns wherever. You see, most of us have planning and want a specific area in towny to make our town. For example, back when town spawn were still there, people make towns near the spawn so they can exploit new players. Most of us mayors prefer a fresh and natural environment as we can continually expand our towns on it and it's more likely to attract new players. Seeing broken buildings aren't a pleasant sight you know?

Yea, lots of people enjoy raiding because it's a way to make a lot of money or probably not. It's like a gamble. However, I don't agree with you that lots of people claim tows in order to restore them? More like; people claim towns to raid them and after raiding, they will just leave it and the buildings that they broke. I raid towns sometimes and get really valuable items but have this towny chunk regeneration will not only help the economy by destroying items, it will also make the worlds attractive.
