Preventing Chargebacks and Rank Scammers

The above is my slopping paint pasting image of one way to help prevent rank scammers and chargebacks.

When a person buys a rank for someone else they have to put in their own minecraft username into the game. If that rank ever gets charged back the admins will have any easy way to track who purchased it and ban them.

 

There are some easy ways to not get rank scammed:
Don't buy from sellers that are new players
Don't buy from sellers who are a lower rank than the one you want to buy
Don't buy from young sellers
Don't buy from sellers who are likely to be permabanned and rage charge back

While it would be nice to have this, it would also add a lot more for admins to do. If you are careful you probably won't have your rank charged back anyways.

 

I, and many others bought a rank from Justyn1999.
Was he new? No.
Lower rank? No.
Young? 1999 = probably 16 years old. Old enough.
Likely to be permabanned and chargeback? He wasn't even banned when he started charge backing.
Yet, we got charge backed, and were all banned for 3< months.

You got unlucky then. I sold probably 100+ usd in ranks, pissed away any reputation I had left, got perm banned and didn't charge any of it back. I've never heard of Justyn1999, so he's probably somewhat new. I should probably also add if someone just starts selling hundreds of dollars of ranks out of nowhere (dotsoz) they are probably going to charge it back.

 

Apparently chargebacks are enough of an issue for Denien to try to shoot down my $10 rank voucher idea. So here's a way they could help reduce chargebacks or at least track them a little better.

 

So i have 2 accounts and i also have 2 ips. I use my throw away account 'A'to buy real account 'B' a rank. 'B' sends money to 'A' to look like a legit deal.

Account 'A' chargebacks and account 'b' has a knew shiny ult account.

 

Ahh excellent deduction. I just thought of another flaw with this. I could put whatever username I wanted to in here and get someone I don't like banned. OK this idea won't work. mods help me out here. there has to be someway to track the donation to make your jobs easier if chargebacks are such common occurences.

 

No, then 'B' has to pay $20 to be unbanned, and when 'B' is unbanned, their ult rank is gone

 

Go outside and earn your own money then you won't have to complain about being chargebacked

Why the hell should I spend hard-earned money on pixels? Especially when it can be bought for an in-game currency.

Also, complain? I am putting my input in for the suggestion.

All I see you do these days is try hard for likes all over the forums, maybe you're the one who should go outside.

 

Work for a few hours irl=get a rank
Work for a few hundred hours in game=get a rank

The stuff you can do for money on meep isn't fun either, so...

Because if you want the only guaranteed way you aren't going to get chargebacked, you're going to have to spend your own money

EDIT: Also weren't you like changing your password to random letters and leaving? What happened to that? Clearly you never did it. It's really a shame.

 

Actually my next rank up ($160) (800 kroners) I'd have to work 14 1/2 hours.
Let's call that 16 million meebles (worst case scenario). It might take, what, 50 hours? I have no idea, I'm guessing, maybe it's 100. But those 100 are spent in the comfort of your home, looking at a PC screen, all while having a pretty good time. There are fun ways to make money, and when you're not having fun making money you can have fun talking to the community.
Hey, maybe I'm being a bit optimistic, but the point is it's just a principle I have. If there are other ways (e.g. in game currency 'meebles') I don't spend real life cash.

Long time ago buddy, no point bringing that up now. You can keep trying to offend me or whatever it is you're trying to do, I'll just stick to making an input for the suggestion.

 

I make money. I just spend it on keeping a wife and a kid alive. If I paid 80 bucks for supreme rank my wife would be pissed. You don't get your wife angry. First rule of being married.

Anyways, as I said if you want a guaranteed way to not get chargebacked, you have to buy it yourself.

95% of people that play on the server aren't married so that's pretty much an anomaly

Also, since you guys are so uppity about it, why would you need to put the buyer's name in? You can already just donate 20$ in the person's name, inform the staff that you did this, and they can be unbanned

You missed it again.

 

It isn't hard to find the person who charged back. It has nothing to do with that. Banning the person who received the rank allows for incentive to pay the $20 chargeback fee. Someone has to pay it and obviously the person who charged back isn't going to.
