When did you join Meepcraft? January 2014 (been playing Halo since early 2013)

Introduction: Hello! My name is Michael, or you can call me Mike. I've been playing Meepcraft since January 2014, and it’s safe to say that I've found a home on Meepcraft. My Meepcraft journey started when I was sick, and I found Mc-Halo. I played happily until the server merged with MeepCraft, at which point I fully engrossed myself in the towny aspect of the server. Outside of MineCraft, I love playing the piano (I've played the piano for 11 years), playing basketball, chess, and reading—currently I’m about halfway through the A Song of Ice and Fire series. I also enjoy learning about different people and cultures, and as a result I'm passionate about geography. Finally, I find great satisfaction in helping members of my local community (more about that in the next section).

Why should you be Helper? I think I would be well-suited to helper because I enjoy helping people. As I mentioned in the previous section, I’ve participated in many community service events in my community. Last summer, I had the privilege of teaching math to at-risk high school students in my area through my church. At the end of the class, most of the students were not only more driven to learn and apply themselves, but happy that they finally understood the concepts. Some have even contacted me during this year and told me about how much of a difference I made in their life—this both surprised me and instilled in me a sense of satisfaction and desire to continue helping. Besides the sense of satisfaction that community service gives me, it also contributes to my growth as a person, and aids the greater community, all things that I would need as a helper on MeepCraft.

My experience in my community helping others also carries over to MeepCraft, where I built a town specifically to help newer players. I begin by giving new residents an overview about what the server is, what towny is about, and some basic towny commands. Then I give them free plots and answer questions. My town never had any tax (and never will) and has amenities such as a grinder, food, etc. I also answer as many questions in shout as I can, and if you ask around I spend a lot of time /tpa-ing to people and helping them with their issues when there are no staff online.

Another reason I think I could be helper is my work ethic. Evidenced by my dedication to piano (11 years) and school (I’ve maintained a 3.9 GPA while taking all the honors or AP classes that I could) my work ethic is something that defines me as a person. I’m what you might call a perfectionist—I strive to be that best I can be, and do the best work that I can in everything I do—this transfers over to MeepCraft as well, where I try to do everything I can to ensure the best experience of players.

What are your weaknesses? Admittedly, I have many weaknesses. I’ll try to go over most of them one by one.

Ban history: My ban history isn’t very nice. I’ve been banned multiple times for language, spamming, and X-ray. These bans were from a time when I was less mature, and I thought that if you got away with things, you win. I haven’t violated any rules recently, though.

Maturity: I definitely sometimes have maturity issues. Sometimes, I’ll just thoughtlessly type an inappropriate joke here, or curse there, or provoke an argument. I’ve been working on this behavior, and although it’s very much a work in progress, I think I can control it. Sometimes, avoiding cursing can be difficult as I curse like a sailor worse than one in real life, but again I’ve been working on this tendency.

Criticism: Sometimes, I can be very sarcastic and biting in criticizing people, especially when I disagree with their remarks or if their remarks make little sense. Regardless of whether or not I get staff, I’ll definitely try to replace these remarks with more constrictive posts.

Teamspeak Activity: My parents don’t really approve of TS, so although I have TS installed and occasionally use it, I’m not really active in any conversations on TS (although I’ll certainly be on TS for interviews, meetings, etc. and can moderate it).

Certainly have potential, but you do often push the boundaries. I think it would be cool to see you as staff, but I don't know how ready you are. I have to see if this will happen again, but for right now, I think you have a pretty decent shot.

Metro for some reason I always thought you were helper on Meep previously, but you weren't! You have the ability to handle things well, and tbh your maturity is actually alright. You may have been banned a couple of times but I'm sure you have learnt from that. You are also active which is great!

About teamspeak, I completely see where you are coming from. Same with my parents pretty much, but I try get on when I can. When you start going on it occasionally you see its such an awesome place to be!

You're honestly one of the most reasonable people on this server (next to me ofc ), you're really smart, and you know what you're saying most of the time.

I have 0 complaints about you, which Is extremely rare because I usually try to find something bad about applicants, but I cant find anything bad about you at all.

I don't see a single reason to give you anything less than a +1.
