Jobs?

So this is just me rambling off a few ideas that stems from MC Jobs.

Im tired of people asking how to earn money, or just begging for donations all the time. I think adding a jobs plugin would be pretty neat. Allow players to earn small amounts of money (enough to pay taxes) by doing what they love to do. Simple setup and would be a nice touch to the economy.

Jobs could be like this:

-Miner - Get paid $ for mining blocks. (not exact #s but. . (0.5 meeples per coal block, 1 meeple per iron, 2 per gold ect.)
-Lumberjack - same as miner but with wood.
-Soldier - get paid a few extra meeples per kitPVP or per kill. however u think it works better.
-Builder - 5 meeples per 50 blocks placed. again not a real #
- Brewer - Every 10 bottled you brew u get a few meeps.
-Baker- for smelting things.
-Fisherman - Catching fish
- Farmer - Farming (obvs)
-Enchanter -
-Tool Maker -
The list goes on. . . you get it though.

Make it so you can only change jobs once every 48 hours so people cant change for everything they do.
I dont suggest putting the job title in the chat. maybe in /seen but thats it.

I just think it will give people alternatives to making meeples and thats something i know everyone wants. a real way to earn other than spamming "Pwarp for the same things at the same prices". . . which will happen anyway.

People can use silk touch pickaxes and keep placing and mining them, abusing money

I think there is already enough unfair advantages in kitpvp

This can easily be abused by placing blocks randomly
-Brewer/Baker/Tool Maker
I see these jobs easily being abused by mass-producers, and I believe this was one of the reasons jobs were removed

The only legitimate jobs in my opinion are fisherman and enchanter, but you can always sell products from doing these jobs to player shops. I'm a -1 on this, because there are already various ways players can get a good amount of money. You can get money by doing parkour, voting, doing jobs for other people, collecting resources from wild then selling them to other people, etc.

 

I see what youre saying. It can be abused by grinding. but thats all work is anyway lol.
Soldiers - getting an extra 5-10 meeples per kill wouldnt hurt anyone. plus thats a main focus on the server right now.
Builder yeah but who wants to waaste tie doing that when u can ust vote / parkour.
other 3 sure, but 1 way to stop that
Brewer - only gets $ from splash potions - need gunpowder
baker - only gets $ from smelting iron or gold
tool maker - only get $ from diamond / iron gear.

Not saying your opinion is wrong but theirs ways around the issues. As i agree theirs tons of ways to make money with the things u listed, its not very "economy like" to have to pwarp or use outside sources such as voting to make $. only other way to make $ is mining and selling with everyone does so whats the difference maker? and jobs for others. how many people want stuff done? haha

I dont think ridding it is the answer. a little work and thought, maybe a 1 week test, and see how it goes would be all that bad.

What I'm trying to say is that you shouldn't receive extra money for doing these things. Doing these jobs earn you benefits, but you shouldn't be paid for it. Take mining for an example, you should receive money for mining coal and get extra money by selling it. And, like I said before, this can be abused by placing and breaking it repetitively. I remember when jobs were implemented there were a lot of player reports for this. Things are simpler as it is now, and there are more important things to fix first. I understand that making money might be harder for some people with less experience, but that's the point of economy servers - to work hard for money.

 

I guess thats where I disagree. I believe you should get paid for that stuff because thats the entire point of an economy server. Not everyone making shops and selling the same items. Also not voting for $ or minigames because well. . that makes it a minigame server.

 

Jobs used to be a thing on Meep... Now they are not... There are reasons for that

 

many things once gone deserve to be re-visited all im suggesting is a look into other forms of money making.

 

I am not opposed to looking into adding other ways of making money, jobs are a bad option though.

Old jobs would be good if implemented but probably won't come back!

 

This will never happen again, as discussed in the town hall meeting, since there are far too many ways for this to be exploited.

 

Or we can add some type of OP prison? Just have different levels with blocks and such equal different amounts of meebles? I feel like a Prison addition would be easier to control.

 

Prison would be nice to have, although there needs to be a DIFFERENT BALANCE SYSTEM and then can't overlap to kit or towns as that wouldn't be good for the eco

 

Only problem with prison is you need Active guards.

 

Or just Prison itself, that isn;t related to economy, because prison is awesome.

I believe it should be related to economy, because it would be an easy; accessible way for new/struggling players to earn meebles at a faster rate. And, chat will not be as spammed with people asking for money/donations.

 

Yes, but this also bringing loads of money into the economy. Which is worse. There are other ways to make money. But they are lazy. Its is possible for a new player to make 100k in a hour or less, they just have to work for it.

 

You are basically asking us to add the job plugin again. The new chestshop way of earning money will actually make you a lot of money if you are diligent with it.
